That brings us to the end of our coverage for this game. We hope we made it worth your while. This is Darpan Tikiya signing off on the behalf of Pritam Dey and Bishal Mandal. Sayonara!
With this win, Canterbury Kings now move to the fourth spot on the points table. Remember, the top three make it to the next round. With three matches remaining, the Kings have a fair chance of getting there. On the other hand, things look a bit grim for Wellington Firebirds, who only have 8 points from seven matches thus far.
Matt Henry (Player of the Match): "Lovely to be back. I love playing for Canterbury. It was a good feeling as I joined the side yesterday and I had a good game.
Yeah I knew the wicket would be tricky. You had to bowl well and I tried to bowl it at the right areas with the new ball. Guys bowled smartly and we contributed equally. Happy with the result.
Well not happy with my performance with the bat to be honest. Everyone adapted really well and score a competitive total."

12:13 PM IST, 7:43 PM LOCAL TIME | Canterbury Kings win by 11 runs.
On a wicket which was described as 'tacky' and 'a bit two-paced' by different players during on-field interviews, the Firebirds' innings moved along like an old, broken down car. It took off, moved fine for a bit, then stuttered and momentarily even came to a halt. Then, the cycle repeated. The skipper's 39-ball-40 and Bracewell's whirlwind 17-ball-33 were the only bright specs. When those two were out there together, the hosts seemed to be in with a shout. However, after Bracewell dragged the ball back on to the stumps, things only went downhill.
For the Kings' it was a combined effort with the ball. O'Rourke and Jamieson banged the ball in at hard lengths, extracted extra bit of bounce and mixed those deliveries up with a few slower ones in between, making it tough for the batters to score freely. Foulkes bowled the difficult overs, whilst Henry exhibited finesse and experience as he picked up three priced scalps. Meanwhile, Sodhi bowled a frugal spell in the middle overs while also getting the team a couple of breakthroughs.
Before this, skipper McConchie's half-centuries and handy contributions from the top three had got the visitors to a good score. Wellington had only themselves to blame. They put down a number of half chances and it all came back to bite them. Interestingly, Michael Snedden, who bowled a good couple of overs and also picked up the wicket of Mitchell Hay was not called upon for the third. In the end, Kings put up 164/7 in their 20 overs, which proved to be enough.
