The action is coming thick and fast in the Legends League Cricket (LLC 2024), as the Gujarat Greats are all set to take on the Toyam Hyderabad at the Maulana Azad Stadium, Jammu, on Sunday (October 6).
Both teams have had similar campaigns so far in the tournament, quite literally. Hyderabad and Gujarat have played five games each, of which they have won one, lost one, and played three no-results fixtures apiece.
The Gujarat Greats, led by Shikhar Dhawan, played their clash match against the Manipal Tigers. Batting first, the Greats could only post a total of 131 runs, thanks to Mohammad Kaif's courageous 34. However, the bowlers could not defend the respectable score as the Tigers chased it down in 17 overs.
On the other hand, Hyderabad, under Peter Trego's leadership, humbled the team of the season, the Southern Super Stars. Batting first, they posted an above-par total of 144/5, courtesy of Chadwick Walton's quickfire 40. With the ball, Shivakant Shukla and Bipul Sharma's inspiring effort took them over the line by winning the game by five runs using the DLS method.
