Shreevats Goswami (Southern Super Stars Captain) - "I was talking to Hamid Hassan before the game as to how quick he is. He can bowl the yorker as well as the bouncer. He is still very fit! It's great to have him with us. They had a long batting lineup and we knew that we had to execute our plans. The bowlers backed their strengths and it paid off. I think most of the players are still fit and young and recently retired. The management kept the core team from the previous season and that helped us. "
Martin Guptill (Legend of the Match): "It was nice to get few out of the bat and help the team. I do have some power left it in me. I knew from the very first over that we need to post up a big total here. I felt pretty good from the start here on this wicket and it was different from Jodhpur. Thank you."

Harbhajan Singh (Manipal Tigers Captain): "Well, I think with the kind of wicket we have seen, it was chaseable here but it will be a good learning. As a bowler you just look to get the batter out in these kind of conditions. We lost some early wickets and it was not easy post that. I enjoy my bowling more than the batting. Credit to the grounds men who have worked hard to prepare a game here."

They've comprehensively outplayed their opponents with the ball by bowling them out in 13.1 overs and winning the game by 42 runs. Pawan Negi picked up the final wicket to finish things off for the Southern Super Stars.
The Manipal Tigers were off to a horrible start as they lost wickets early in the piece. Saurabh Tiwary and Amit Verma departed in the very first over as Hamid Hassan struck twice. Angelo Perera played his shots but he was also dismissed by the Afghan seamer. Robin Uthappa took the attack to the bowlers and by the end of the powerplay the Tigers were 55/4.
Asela Gunaratne and Daniel Christian played a couple of vital cameos for the Manipal Tigers but they were dismissed at crucial stages of the innings as Monu Singh and Jesal Karia got the breakthroughs for the Southern Super Stars. They had almost knocked out the Tigers but Thisara Perera upped the ante with a few big blows. They needed more than 71 runs from the last five over.
Anureet Singh aided Thisara for a while but he tried to play a shot too many. Jesal Karia got him out with a full toss and Perera followed suit in the very next over. It was the last nail in the coffin for the Tigers as they were left with just one wicket post that.
Razzak, Monu and Karia all went for a few runs but they did what was expected out of them and picked up wickets in bulk. The star of the show though was Hamid Hassan. He picked up three wickets early on and was the most economical bowler in this extremely high scoring game.
