22:32 IST and Local Time- The Southern Super Stars have pulled this game away from the jaws of defeat and they've emerged victorious by four wickets in the end in the final over. The heroes of this run chase are the two uncapped players Chirag Gandhi and Jesal Karia. They put together an incredible partnership of 61 runs to knock out the India Capitals.
The pair of Martin Guptill and Shreevats Goswami started off well for the Southern Super Stars as they picked up 17 runs from the first over. The pair scored 41 runs before Goswami and Parthiv Patel were dismissed of consecutive balls by Parwinder Awana. It gave the India Capitals some much needed boost by the end of the powerplay.
Pawan Negi and Martin Guptill took their time early on and tried to pick up the singles and twos. They began to accelerate towards the end of the 10th over but in the end , it was leg spinner Rahul Sharma who prevailed and picked up the wicket of Martin Guptill. He also sent back skipper Dinesh Karthik to bring the game in favor of the India Capitals.
Negi played a handy cameo and was bringing the game back in balance but Rahul Sharma came back for his final over and dismissed the dynamic left hander. Chaturanga de Silva was next and he didn't last long. He was dismissed by Colin de Grandhomme as the Southern Super Stars slipped deeper into trouble. They needed 56 runs from the final 30 balls.
The game turned completely in the 17th over of Colin de Grandhomme where he bowled two no balls and it resulted in two big sixes. 21 runs came of that over and it brought the Super Stars back into the contest. From there, the India Capitals bowlers capitulated under pressure and they ended up bowling too many loose deliveries. Chirag Gandhi finished off unbeaten on 38 and Jesal Karia finished unbeaten on 23.
