Dinesh Karthik (Southern Super Stars Captain): "That was the best part of today's game. It was difficult to bat. I thought they are very good spinners post the powerplay so I held them for the run rate to slowly creep up and put them under pressure.
De Silva used the pitch really well with the ball and with the bat as well. 2 people batted like it was a different surface, de Silva and then Shikhar Dhawan.
It was good to be back in the field. Keeping was a bit rusty but I felt good with the bat. More happy that we won."

Chathuranga de Silva (Legend of the Match): "We were 5 wickets down at the halfway stage. Me and DK talked about rotating the strike. It was very hard to start the innings because there was spin and bounce. I am used to number 6 and 7 spot."

Shikhar Dhawan (Gujarat Greats Captain): "I should have used my off spinner for one more over as we leaked too many runs. At the end we lost too many wickets. They didn't use too many pacers, it was a difficult wicket to bat.
We knew that its going to turn more. The plan was to cash the first 6 overs but its a tough condition to bat. Its very competitive. Its tough for T20 batting on these surfaces because you need to keep scoring on the higher run rate and that's where your skill gets tested and you have to think out of the box.

10:48 PM: Southern Super Stars pull off a heist defeating a strong Gujarat Greats side by a 26 runs with the spinners doing a wonderful job to defend a modest total of 144/9.
The Greats skipper Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and asked Super Stars to bat first. Chathuranga de Silva starred with the bat to score an unbeaten 53 in 28 balls to help the side deposit 144/9, Manan Sharma claimed 6/17 to help restrict the side.
The Greats got a wonderful start as Shikhar Dhawan smashed the pacers Suranga Lakmal and Subodh Bhati to all parts before the spinners dragged the momentum back. Dhawan added 63 for the first wicket scoring 52 in 48 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes.
Nobody besides opener Morne van Wyk (15) and Manan Sharma (10) could score in double digits. Pawan Negi (3/13) was the pick of the bowlers with impact substitute Abdur Razzak (2/28), Kedar Jadhav (1/14) and de Silva (1/23) shared the wickets among them.
The Greats were cruising along well until the 16th over when Dhawan fell after his strike rate was reduced to just over a-run-a-ball. Stars skipper Dinesh Karthik was smart with his bowling changes and field placements and never allowed the Greats to get ahead in the game.
