That's it from our end as we sum up this clash in the T20 Tri Series between Canada, Oman and Nepal. Do join us tomorrow for the final contest of the series, which will confirm the winner of this tournament.
This is me, Arjun Bhalla, signing off on behalf of my colleagues Saptak Sanyal and Raju Khariya.
Rohit Paudel (Nepal Captain and Player of the Match): "As a team, we could have done better. There are a lot of things that we could have done better in both ODIs and T20Is, but we will look to do better in the upcoming series.
Absolutely, we will look to prepare well for the upcoming series in the USA. As you know, we tried our best against South Africa and Bangladesh. Things haven't been going our way, but our coaches have been doing a brilliant job of calming us. The boys have been motivated and pumped up. We are heading in the right way.
Rijan Dhakal has become a brilliant asset with the new ball for us in this series. Bowling has been doing well, but the batters must do their job better.
Hopefully, we will lift the trophy tomorrow, but we will be supporting both teams (Canada and Oman) tomorrow."
Player of the Match: Rohit Paudel
Aqib Ilyas Sulehri(Oman Captain): "I don't think 157 was a tough target. The wicket was good to bat on. This target is chaseable in T20. We dropped a few catches and Rohit batted really well.
We are not losing wickets at the start. If you see our games closely, we are losing wickets in patches at the middle overs. We have a lot of work to do. Both in skill and mindset, we have to do a lot. The teams coming are too strong and getting stronger every day.
Today we restricted them to a low target and till the 11th over, we were dominating the match but then it went out of our hands."
Time for the post-match presentations.
1:43 IST and 16:13 Local Time: Nepal have thrashed Oman for the second time in this Tri-Series. The Rohit Paudel-led side has thrashed the opposition by 56 runs to make a solid case for themselves to win this tournament.
After putting on a solid score of 157/7 - thanks to Paudel's fighting half-century, the Nepalese bowlers came out with a mission. The seamers helped them bag two quick wickets in the powerplay, but Aqib Ilyas Sulerhri and Zeeshan Maqsood revived the innings by counter-punching the Nepalese post-powerplay.
However, the introduction of Sandeep Lamichanne turned the tables for Nepal. The prolific leg-spinner not just shut down the run flow but kept on taking key wickets. Maqsood remained the lone batter in the middle as the Oman batters surrendered against Lamichanne and his spin partners.
And after Maqsood's dismissal on 35, the other batters fell like a pack of cards, resulting in Oman's abysmal fall on 101/10.
That's it, Oman get outclassed here in Canada as Nepal have toppled them by 56 runs.
17.5 K Bhurtel to F Butt
W WICKET!!! Kushal Bhurtel picks up his third wicket to wrap the things up for his side. Length delivery at the middle and leg stump line. Fayyaz Butt comes down the track to lift it over the bowler's head but the ball turns to beat him on the outside edge. Keeper collects the ball behind the stumps and waits for a while. When Butt was about to come back to his crease, he rightly takes the bails off in time. A fun-filled end to the contest as Nepal wins it by 56 runs!
17.4 K Bhurtel to F Butt
0 Bhurtel tosses the ball up outside off. Butt goes for a slog sweep but he misses as it turns away.
17.3 K Bhurtel to Kaleemullah
1 Full delivery at the middle stump. Kaleemullah nudges it to short midwicket area for a single.
W WICKET!!!! 9th one goes down for Oman and Nepal inches towards the victory. Bhurtel flights this one up at the leg stump. Ahmad clears his front leg and goes for a wild hoick. He manages to get a top edge. Short third man fielder moves forward and takes the catch.
