That is all from the action here, we will see you after a day's gap now with the final set to take place between MI Cape Town and Sunrisers Eastern Cape at The Wanderers. Will it be a hat-trick for the Sunrisers or will the SA20 trophy find a new holder in MI Cape Town? We shall find out in due time but for now this is Sourabh Agrawal taking your leave on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and scorer Paras Yadav. Good night!
Aiden Markram (Sunrisers Eastern Cape Captain): "Yeah, another good night again. Like I said last night, we're trying to trend in the right direction, and I feel like we're getting there. It was another really good wicket out there, so restricting them to under 180 was quite satisfying at the halfway stage. From there, we needed a strong start from our top three, and that's exactly what they delivered. It was great to see players stepping up who hadn't been firing before. We can definitely take some confidence from this heading into Saturday.
Yeah, I think it's a big lift for the guys, to be honest. In this game, you always know you're just one knock away. Now, Tony and Jordan will feel like completely different batters. Itβs great for them to have that experience, especially on such a big stage in front of a packed crowd. So yeah, really good for them and fantastic for us as a team to tick that box as we move forward into the final.
I've struggled with this earlier, especially when it comes to reading the wickets. Durban has been tough, but overall, it's been a really good wicket. Itβs all about a team holding its nerve as best as possible in the field while someone with the bat steps up to be the match-winner on the day. For now, we'll put it to bed, get some rest, and then take it on Saturday."
David Miller (Paarl Royals' Captain): "No, not at all. We were coming into the game qwith 3 losses but it is a new game. Everyone was up for it and we prepared well. T20 cricket goes like that, Sunrisers lost their first three games and we thought we would get through to the final but that is how it goes.
It has been a fantastic season, I'm proud of the unit. There were some outstanding performances, Pretorius coming through, Root coming through, we had a lot of individual performances but we had a great time as a unit as well off the field.
Would like to wish Sunrisers all the best, really well played today."
Tony de Zorzi (Player of the Match): "Yeah, it's really, really cool. I don't think it has fully sunk in yet. I'm very grateful to Adi and Aiden for giving me the opportunity, to be honest. It wasn't really warranted, but for some reason, they showed faith in me and gave me a chance. I'm glad I could repay that faith, especially in a big game when the team needed it most.
The coach has been working really hard with me and assured me that my chance would come. Most of our players are in good form, either with the bat or ball, so I believe one of them will step up in the final."
