That’s a wrap from Old Trafford, and what a performance it has been from India Women! They’ve now ticked off Trent Bridge, bossed it in Bristol, and tonight, they’ve been magnificent in Manchester, sealing the series with a commanding win.

This marks history in the making — it’s the first time ever that India Women have won a T20I bilateral series (2+ matches) against England Women, having lost all previous six such series. The long-standing hoodoo has finally been broken under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, with the visitors outclassing England in all departments of the game.

With the series now at 3-1 in India’s favour and just one match to go at Edgbaston, the result may be sealed but expect India to push for a 4-1 score line and finish the series in style! For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Akshay Bhide who, along with scorer/analyst Raju Khariya brought all the actions of this clash. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world. BYE BYE👋
Harmanpreet Kaur (India Women Captain): "Definitely. we are grateful that we are able to do that. I'm proud of my team. It was important for us to get that momentum and we are happy.

We had very good camps back home before coming here. We had plans and we executed them perfectly. Everyone had roles and they played them perfectly.

Definitely. We have now played three seasons of WPL and every season has been special for us. We have had great experience from it. All the girls have played in them and learnt a lot. Good signs for us.

Hopefully, we just need to keep doing the right things again and again and we will do it."
Tammy Beaumont (England Women Captain): "Yeah, contrasting two games in charge. I think it was always going to be tough defending that score. We needed probably 150 in order to have a chance on a surface which was assisting the slower bowlers. In a chase like that, you need to get everything right but we couldn't.

I think we need to give credit to India as they played really well. They always kept the stumps into play and kept picking up wickets at regular intervals.

I think we didn't manage to read the wicket well enough. Credit goes to India who probably might've assessed the conditions better and adapted pretty quickly.

We want to put on a show for the home fans at Edgbaston. We are missing a couple of key players and we are also a team in transition but we need to put our hands up and end the series on a high in order to make it 3-2."
Radha Yadav (Player of the Match): "From the start only, we were fully pumped up. We were looking forward to this game. We are definitely working hard on each and every delivery like spinning the ball and yorkers. It's working for us.

It was easy for us today because it was familiar to our bowling. We did our job as a whole unit and I'm actually happy for all of us. All the bowlers did really well and looking forward to the next game.

(On fielding) This is the one part that we were trying to get better at. We are actually put in a lot of effort to get better each and every day and we are getting the results."

2:01 AM IST & 9:31 PM Local Time: That's the end of this encounter from Old Trafford! India Women have absolutely hammered England Women by 6 wickets, sealing the five-match T20I series 3-1 with a game still in hand! A dominant display from the visitors, who’ve outplayed the hosts in every department.

Earlier in the day, England captain Tammy Beaumont won the toss and chose to bat first without any hesitation. However, they didn’t get off to the best of starts. Danielle Wyatt-Hodge was the first to go, dismissed for 5 in the third over by Nallapureddy Charani. Sophia Dunkley looked promising at the other end, playing some elegant strokes and scoring 22 off 19, but she fell to Deepti Sharma in the final over of the powerplay, leaving England two down early after a cautious beginning.

Tammy Beaumont and Alice Capsey then looked to rebuild the innings, but Capsey struggled to find any rhythm. Beaumont attempted to up the scoring rate after the Drinks break but was dismissed for 20 off 19 balls. Capsey’s scratchy stay at the crease ended soon after, as she was trapped LBW by Charani for 18 off 21. England continued to lose wickets at regular intervals and couldn’t really build any momentum through the middle overs.

In the death, Sophie Ecclestone (16* off 10) and Isabelle Wong (11* off 10) chipped in with some handy runs to help England reach a modest total. They finished on 126/7 from their 20 overs. For India, Nallapureddy Charani (2/30) and Radha Yadav (2/15) were the standout bowlers, picking up two wickets each in a disciplined display.

In reply, India came out all guns blazing, with Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana providing a blistering start in the powerplay. Mandhana played the anchor’s role, picking off the loose deliveries, while Shafali was the aggressor, making full use of the fielding restrictions and finding the boundary regularly. England were desperate to break the threatening opening partnership, and it was Charlie Dean who provided the breakthrough, dismissing Shafali for a brisk 31 off 19 balls. Soon after, Sophie Ecclestone struck to remove Mandhana for 32, giving England a glimmer of hope.

The experienced pair of Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues made sure there were no stumbles in this straightforward chase. The duo put together a steady partnership, keeping the scoreboard ticking and guiding India towards the target with ease. Harmanpreet looked to wrap things up quickly but fell for 26 off 25. Jemimah, however, stayed right till the end, finishing unbeaten on 24 off 22 and taking India home. A clinical performance all-round as India Women sealed a commanding 6-wicket win with 18 balls to spare. Stay tuned for the Post-Match Presentation!
