Milestone
So that marks the end of our coverage. England have completed the whitewash and now the caravan moves to Chester-Le Street for the first T20I of the 3-match series starting from this Friday. Do keep an eye on CREX to follow the coverage of cricket matches around the globe.

For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ajay Pal Singh and the scorer/analyst of this game Zeeshan Naiyer. Good night.
Celebrations galore as Harry Brook collects the series' trophy and joins his teammates for the celebration. His captaincy stint has started on a good note. The English players now pose for a photograph.
Harry Brook (England Captain): "The way we started off at Edgbaston was great. Getting 400 on the board and winning by a big margin is good. The talk was to be dominant and glad that we made that.

Jacks in the lower order was great. Mention goes to Beth (Jacob Bethell) too. The guys have done really well. They have the opportunity to bowl. Their contributions with the ball can only go upwards. Their batting brings a lot of depth.

I am happy with my performance. Winning as a unit is the key. Boys have done really well."
Shai Hope (West Indies Captain): "There's always something positive you can take from any series. Great to see Keacy Carty continuing his form. Alzarri picked up crucial wickets to keep us in the game.

He's a quality player. It feels like he is playing in a video game sometimes. He is scoring runs for fun for the last couple of months. Hopefully, he can continue that form.

There's a mix. You have try and have a big pool as much as you can. You need players to perform. You need to bank on your experienced players. We need to win a lot of games to get that automatic qualification."
Joe Root (Player of the Series): "More than anything I try to be consistent in practice. I try to think ahead of the opposition. I always look to expand the game. It has become the key for me over the years.

I think trying to read the situation and manipulating your skills as per the situation becomes the key sometime. I am looking forward to extend my run. I might have a little bit of break as a hectic schedule is approaching as the Test matches are coming."
Player of the Series: Joe Root
Jamie Smith (POTM): "Yeah, I did, especially this being my home ground. To get the team off to a good start. It is nice that it happened in this game.

I have enjoyed the freedom that comes with it. Enjoying the backing of the team allows me to go out and play my way. Suits my game well. I know it won't go my way all the time. It is nice when it goes your way.

He's doing it across all formats now. We complement each other well. Missed out in Cardiff, nice to do it here again."

Time for the post-match presentation.
1:12 AM IST and 8:42 PM Local Time | England's new era under their new skipper Harry Brook by starts by whitewashing West Indies 3-0 in the series. Previous English skipper Jos Buttler finished the game with a maximum!

England won the toss and sent the visitors to bat first at the Kia Oval. West Indies got the jolt early as their openers got out after getting a good start. Brandon King and Evin Lewis faltered and then Shai Hope mistimed an uncharacteristic pull shot to depart for a golden duck. The pair of Keacy Carty and Sherfane Rutherford then took the charge. The latter was the aggressor and helped the scoreboard to move. But after the rain break, Adil Rashid got the better of Keacy Carty on 29. Rashid removed Justin Greaves and Roston Chase in back-to-back deliveries.

But Sherfane Rutherford and Gudakesh Motie played their shots. Rutherford was inching closer to a well deserved century but an exceptional catch from Brook off Carse's delivery curtailed his innings on 70. But Motie didn't stop. He and Alzarri Joseph took the bowlers on and registered a 91-run partnership between them. Alzarri Joseph got out for 41 off 29 balls. Motie departed on the last ball of the innings scoring 63. West Indies posted 245/8, thanks to the late flourish.

Adil Rashid took 3 wickets for 40 runs. The pace trio of Saqib Mahmood-Brydon Carse-Matthew Potts took a couple of wickets each for the hosts.

Jamie Smith and Ben Duckett are known for their hard hitting and they started doing their job right from the word go. Smith got a few streaky boundaries and then started hitting it clean. Duckett took his time but once he got settled, he smacked the bowlers for fun all around the park. Jamie Smith took just 28 balls to score 64. He hit 10 fours and 3 maximums on his way. Ben Duckett hit 5 fours and 3 maximums to score 58 off 46 balls.

After the openers got out, Joe Root and Harry Brook made the going a sedate one. They played watchfully and rotated the strike. The visitors' bowlers created a boundary draught which Brook broke with a maximum but a while after, Joe Root mistimed a pull off Alzarri Joseph and Shamar Joseph caught it at fine leg. Root contributed 44 off 49 balls with a solitary boundary. Jos Buttler set the stage on fire and scored 41 off 20 balls hitting 5 fours and 2 maximums. Harry Brook remained unbeaten on 26 off 36 balls.

Stay tuned for the presentations.
