That's it from our coverage of the final T20I in the 3-match series between England and South Africa. Rain plays spoilsport and ends the limited-overs tour for South Africa to England. Mixed performances for the visitors as they clinch the ODI series and tie the T20I series. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Saptak Sanyal and scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Stay tuned for more action from around the world.
The two skippers shake hands and receive the series trophy!
Harry Brook (England Captain):"Ya that was an amazing game the other night. It is a shame that the weather ruined it.
Obviously we have played one T20 game but the weather the other night was great. A dominating performance against a strong South African side will give us a lot of confidence going forward.
I completely believe in him (Phil Salt). That he will go and perform like that alongside Jos (Jos Buttler). I don't think it is the only time we got 300. By the strength of the players we have, we hope we register 300 a three or four times more.
Ya holidays are coming. Looking forward to New Zealand and Ashes next."
Aiden Markram (South Africa Captain): "Tough one. Quick game played around the first time around and we were completely outplayed in the second game. We had a lot of motivation to comeback and rectify a few things.
There was quite to learn from Old Trafford. From a planning point of a view, suppose you have plans and on the day you might need to be able to be adaptable and be able to tap into certain skills that you maybe wouldn't see yourself tapping into and when 2 players are going like that but lots of lessons from Australia through this tour for the T20 squad. We are obviously tracking towards that World Cup and hopefully we can keep improving.
We have never taken playing for your country for granted and things like that. The other night it was a tough performance and you have to go back to your skillsets and improve for sure and that's pretty much where we feel we are at and it's about improving.
You want to win and today it was an exciting opportunity, a must-win game. Never quite like a World Cup but it's as close as you can get. We were excited about that opportunity but again there is not much you can do.
[On the upcoming tour] 2-3 weeks off now should be welcome and then we hit the road. It will bring its own unique challenges and the boys are up for it.
Phil Salt (Player of the Series):"The feeling now is a little bit of frustrating because of the weather.
[On Friday] Yes the idea was to keep them under pressure. It was just about keeping the pressure on. We had to do something in Cardiff.
I loved to open with Jos (Jos Buttler). We know each other for a long time and the thing is that we know each other's game well. Next stop is Ireland. Always a good place to be. Ireland are a good team. They have had some good series. So we have a job in our hands."
Player of the Series: Phil Salt
