That’s it from our side, folks! Afghanistan made history in this series by defeating South Africa for the first time in a bilateral series, but the Proteas managed to avoid a series whitewash in the final match. We hope you enjoyed our coverage, and it's time to bid adieu. For now, this is Deepak Prakash signing off on behalf of scorer/analyst Chandan Kumar Singh. CHEERS!
Hashmatullah Shahidi receives the series trophy 🏆 and joins his teammates for the photograph session.
Hashmatullah Shahidi (Afghanistan Captain): "I'm very happy with our performance in this series. It's been a great learning experience as we approach the upcoming game.
I would’ve been even happier to win this match, but our focus is on giving the youngsters opportunities and building for the future. We could've handled the run-out better, but with so many young players, we're making sure they get their chances. (For the fans) Keep supporting us, and we'll keep delivering for you."
Temba Bavuma (South Africa Captain): "I'm quite happy with our performance in this game. We bowled well to take 10 wickets and were clinical with the bat. However, looking at the series as a whole, there’s still a lot we need to improve on.
Tony and I had to manage the powerplay, but unfortunately, we lost two wickets in the first 12 overs. It seemed like the ball skidded more as the night went on and the dew came in, and Markram batted really well."
Rahmanullah Gurbaz (Player of the Match & Series): "I feel really proud to perform against strong teams. I want to congratulate my team on this big achievement; it was truly special. But I'm disappointed to have missed out today. Playing against quality bowlers and teams, and scoring runs, means a lot to me. I'm looking forward to carrying this confidence forward."
