22:06 IST and Local Time- The Shivamogga Lions have their first win in the tournament and it has been an incredible one against the table toppers Hubli Tigers. They've won by 6 wickets and 29 balls to spare and the architect of this dominating win has been Abhinav Manohar who scored a magnificent 70 of just 27 balls. The captain Nihal Ullal stayed unbeaten till the end and finished off the match with a maximum.
Dheeraj Mohan and Nihal Ullal started things off well for the Shivamogga Lions. They put on the highest opening partnership for the Lions in the season as they got to 32 before Mohan was dismissed. Manvanth Kumar picked up the second wicket as he picked up Dhuri. The Tigers came back into the contest at that stage.
It brought Abhinav Manohar to the crease and he began in typical fashion. He got an excellent ally in Nihal Ullal who kept rotating the strike and he on the other hand kept smashing the spinners or the seamers. Daman Singh, Kumar and Cariappa were all taken to the cleaners as Abhinav Manohar reached his 50 in just 21 balls.
Manohar raked absolute carnage as he took the game away from the hands of the Hubli Tigers within the blink of an eye. He smashed Aneeshwar Gautam for three sixes in one over and he seemed unstoppable at that stage till Gautam struck back of the final ball of his over. The Lions needed just 23 runs to win from 48 balls when he was dismissed.
Manvanth Kumar was the pick of the bowlers as he managed to get another wicket and finished with a three wicket haul. The rest of the bowlers took a real beating except for Vidwath Kaverappa who escaped unscathed. He gave away 23 runs from his 4 over spell.
