Nathan Ellis (Hobart Hurricanes Captain): "I am over the moon now. I am so happy to win the game in front of the home crowd out here in the Ninja Stadium.

(On Riley Meredith) He has been so good for us with the new ball. I am so glad that everyone has been able to see the Riley Meredith that I know. Just so happy for him.

I was backing the big boundary on the leg side but I knew CJ (Chris Jordan) was there in the backend to take us home.

Outstanding crowd and a great evening for Tasmanian cricket. Looking forward to the final."
Riley Meredith (Player of the Match): "It was a gutsy batting performance I thought. The batters batted and scratched their way through and did what the team wanted at that stage.

(On being rested in the previous game) We thought we are in the home final anyway. Didn't think much about it.

(On Final) It's going to be unbelievable. It was a great atmosphere tonight and the final is going to be big for Hobart and Tasmania. It's going to be a huge match.

The next few days, probably, take it a bit easy. Get down for some golf trip before having some net sessions before we turn up for the big final."

5:22 PM IST & 10:52 PM Local Time| The Cane train rolls on! Hobart Hurricanes secure their 6th consecutive home win and, more importantly, book their spot in the BBL Final for the 3rd time in history. A stellar performance in front of their home crowd. They will host the final in front of their home crowd on Monday! A comprehensive 12-run victory for the Men in Purple!

The Qualifier began with Moises Henriques deciding to field first, putting the Hurricanes into bat. The Hurricanes' openers went on an all-out assault during the powerplay, with Mitchell Owen leading the charge. However, his explosive innings of 36 off just 15 balls was cut short by Jafer Chohan right after the powerplay.

After the powerplay, the Sixers managed to stem the flow of runs, causing the boundaries to dry up. Both McDermott and Jewell found it difficult to build momentum, prompting them to opt for the Power Surge early in the second half of the innings.

During the Power Surge, the Hurricanes regained momentum, adding 33 runs to their tally. Caleb Jewell (40 off 41) and Ben McDermott (42 off 31) provided solid contributions at the top. Tim David (25 off 10) and Nikhil Chaudhary (14 off 11) chipped in with vital cameos, enabling the Hobart Hurricanes to post a formidable total of 173/7 in their 20 overs.

Ben Dwarshuis (2/36) and Jafer Chohan (2/28) were the standout bowlers for the Sixers, each claiming two wickets. Sydney Sixers required 174 runs to chase and book their spot in the Final.

In reply, the Hurricanes' seamers came out blazing. Josh Philippe and Jack Edwards were both dismissed for ducks, while Moises Henriques managed just a single run before being sent back. The Sixers found themselves in deep trouble, losing 3 wickets for just 5 runs within the first 3 overs.

Kurtis Patterson and Jordan Silk stabilized the innings with a vital 75-run stand for the fourth wicket. Just as the Sixers seemed to be regaining control, Gannon struck, removing Patterson for 48.

The Sixers decided to take the Power Surge in the 15th over. The Hurricanes brought in their most seasoned death bowlers for this crucial phase. Despite the pressure, the Sixers managed to score only 20 runs with Ellis and Jordan maintaining tight control over the proceedings.

As the required run rate climbed, the pressure mounted on the Sixers. The Hurricanes struck regularly in the death overs, including the crucial wicket of a well-set Jordan Silk, who scored 57 off 44 balls.

With 21 needed off the final 6 balls, Jordan's expert yorkers sealed the deal, leading the Hobart Hurricanes to a 12-run victory over the Sydney Sixers in the Qualifier, securing their place in the Final. Stay tuned for the Post-Match Presentation!
