That brings an end to our coverage of this game. Keep joining us for more cricketing action all around the globe. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Ninaad Dixit and scorer Dushyant Madhukar Kumar. Until next time, cheers and good bye.
Jacob Bethell (Player of the Match): "I think we did well to drag that close. We felt we had enough but credit to them for getting across the line.

I have really enjoyed it. Loved the Melbourne city and I’ll be definitely looking forward to coming back. It’s always the dream of mine to play the Ashes. I’ll definitely take the chance to play in it."
Player of the Match: Jacob Bethell
5:15 PM IST, 10:45 PM Local Time: That’s it. The Hobart Hurricanes’ juggernaut at home continues. They remain unbeaten at the Bellerive Oval in this season and move to the top of the points table. They beat the Melbourne Renegades by four wickets with two balls to spare in this cracking contest. With this, the Renegades have been knocked out of the competition.

Chasing 155, Mitchell Owen gave the Hurricanes a flying start. He played some lovely strokes against the new ball and scored at a brisk rate. His opening partner Caleb Jewell fell cheaply on one as the Hurricanes scored 36 in the powerplay. Owen scored 24 off 14 before getting run out in the fifth over.

Charlie Wakim (12) and Jake Doran (7) fell in quick succession. Nikhil Chaudhary was joined by Matthew Wade and both kept the Renegades at bay. They put 38 between them before Chaudhary holed out in the deep on 36. Wade played some wonderful strokes and kept the required run rate under check. He miscued one and was dismissed on 36 in the 17th over.

Tim David was joined by his skipper Nathan Ellis and both kept ticking the scoreboard to take the game to the final over. The Hurricanes required eight from the final over. They managed to score only a single run off the first two balls before David smashed one into the stands to bring the equation down to one from three. He kept his cool and hit the winning runs as the Hurricanes chased down the total with two balls to spare with four wickets in hand. David remained unbeaten on 24 off 15 balls.

After being asked to bat first, the Renegades got off to a shaky start as Josh Brown (6), Marcus Harris (1) and Jake Fraser-McGurk (7) fell cheaply as they were reeling at 23/3 in the fifth over. Jacob Bethell along with Tim Seifert led the recovery work for the visitors.

Bethell and Seifert put 46 between them before the latter fell on 24 in the 12th over. Bethell continued his good work at the other end and brought up a well-composed fifty off 38 balls. Will Sutherland (15) and Harry Dixon (1) fell cheaply but Bethell made sure that the Renegades get to a respectable total.

Bethell scored 87 off 50 balls before falling in the last over. His knock comprised eight fours and four maximums which powered the Renegades to 154/7. Riley Meredith bowled beautifully for the Hurricanes and registered figures of 3/36 in his four overs.

1 Rogers goes full on the stumps, David drives it straight to the left of mid on. A misfield from the fielder inside the ring and the batters complete an easy single. With that, the Hurricanes beat the Renegades by four wickets with two balls to spare.
