Until then, its cheers!
Tom Andrews (POTM): "Definitely, we haven't played the last two games as good as we can. Against the Scorchers, probably the best teams in the tournament in the last few years, to get one over them is massive. We are extremely happy, still one game to go. But great to get over the line.
(on his clean ball striking) I didn't know, the first few balls I just tried to get off strike. Then I thought to try and why not to keep going after getting one from the middle of the bat.
Yeah, well we have a lot of all-rounders in the team. I am happy to stick behind the order and do my best in whatever chances I get.
Once we got to 160, we knew it was a good score. We knew we had to bowl well. Tanveer got us an early breakthrough. Greeny does his thing, putting pressure on the batters. It was pretty good overall."

5:05 PM IST and 10:35 PM Local Time: Sydney Thunder become the third club after Sydney Sixers and Hobart Hurricanes to qualify for the playoffs of BBL Season 14! They guarantee a top-four spot by brushing aside the five-time champions Perth Scorchers in a one-sided clash at home.
Earlier in the evening, Sydney Thunder were put into bat. The youngster Sam Konstas went berserk in the powerplay before Lance Morris put the hosts onto the back foot with a double-wicket over inside the field restriction phase. Konstas was a lone warrior for the majority of the innings and scored his second BBL half-century, with wickets falling at regular intervals at the other end as the Scorchers spin-trio of Ashton Agar, Cooper Connolly and Matthew Spoors were controlling the middle phase.
Tom Andrews and Chris Green played a brilliant hand when the Thunder were reeling at 114/7 and hit 25 runs in the final over to propel the team to 158/7 in 20 overs.
Sydney Thunder took that momentum into their bowling innings and never let the visitors have any chance to get into the contest. They lost wickets at regular intervals and eventually bundled for 97 in 17.2 overs. Aaron Hardie was the top-scorer with 22, while Jason Behrendorff hit a few shots at the back end of the innings, only managing to take the Scorchers close to the 100-run mark.
Chris Green bowled a superb spell, bagging three scalps and also went past 200 T20 wickets in the process. Nathan McAndrew grabbed two, while Mohammad Hasnain, Tanveer Sangha and Tom Andrews bowled quality spells and returned with a wicket each. Sydney Thunder were excellent on the field, accounting for two runouts and also took a few stunning catches.
With this 61-run dominating win, the Thunder climb to top of the table, while the Scorchers sink to bottom. Stay tuned for the presentation...
W A strangle down the leg and that is the end of the match. The debutant flicks it to the left of the keeper and Billings makes no mistake. Length ball angling down the leg side. 128.3 kmph. Beardman looks to tuck it on the leg side but gets a feather on it that it taken nicely by a diving Sam Billings. An appeal for caught behind and the finger goes up. With this commanding win by 61 runs, Sydney Thunder are assured of a place in the playoffs.
