Ben Dwarshuis (Player of the Match): "Silky and I were just enjoying and doing our best. That was one of the better ones we've ever had. It was nice to get a few off the middle of the bat there.
I have got a really nice bat from New Balance. I just tried to swing hard and connected. I was a bit disappointment with my first 2 overs but nice to bounce back. We identify ourselves to do well in the surge and did just that."

5:07 PM IST, 10:37 PM Local Time | Sydney Sixers take home the bragging rights in the first Sydney Bash of this year's Big Bash League! They do so by defeating Sydney Thunder by 5 wickets to go top of the table with 2 wins in 2 matches!
Sydney Sixers won the toss and elected to bowl first, and Akeal Hosein gave them the dream start with the wicket of Sam Konstas in the very first over. However, Cameron Bancroft had other ideas as he built a crucial 88 run partnership for the 3rd wicket with Ollie Davis, and ended up with an unbeaten 70 runs in 52 balls to help his team register 163/5 at the end of their 20 overs.
Akeal Hosein was the pick of the bowlers with 2/23 from his 4 overs and Ben Dwarshuis was not further behind with 2/26 from his 4 overs.
Come the chase, the Sixers were off to a solid start, going wicketless in the powerplay to register 32/0 after the first 4 overs. However, a misunderstanding in the middle saw James Vince depart for 13 runs from 14 balls and the Sixers found it difficult from there on.
Josh Philippe went back for 35 runs off 27 balls to Daniel Sams and another brilliant run-out from David Warner saw Jack Edwards depart for 28 runs off 18 balls. Post that, Jordan Silk reignited the hopes for Sixers as he smashed his way to 36 runs off 25 balls to take the game deep and with the help of Ben Dwarshuis' unbeaten cameo of 20 runs from 8 balls, he was able to take his team over the finish line!
Lockie Ferguson was the pick of the bowlers with 2/32 from his 4 overs but despite his best efforts, Sydney Sixers had too much in the tank to be defeated tonight!
The Men in Pink go top of the table and continues Sydney Smash dominance! Thunder will be devastated with this defeat but they will hope to come back on the winning track in the next game!
