Milestone
That brings us to the end of our live coverage of this WBBL game between the Sydney Thunder Women and the Hobart Hurricanes Women. For now, it's Soumarya Dutta signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Akshay Bhide along with our Scorer/Analyst Paras Yadav. See you soon!
Phoebe Litchfield (Player of the Match & Sydney Thunder Women Captain): "I’m just so glad for the girls. It was a great win. We had the chance to play the finals in front of our home crowd.

We tried to take it as deep as possible. The pitch was playing its tricks. We knew we had to take on in the Power Surge. We did well to stay there till the end and get the job done.

It’s been awesome. All the green color is great and it’s the sea of green. It’s so nice to have the home finals.

I’m not going anywhere. They gave the opportunity when I was 13 and I’m really grateful for it.

Flight tomorrow morning and maybe a hit later on. Take on Heat on Friday and hopefully, we’ll get across the line."

4:45 PM IST and 10:15 PM Local Time- The Sydney Thunder Women have cruised home by 6 wickets and they've made their way into the challenger. They're just one step away from the final now and this has been a comprehensive effort from them in the knock out. Anika Learoyd remained unbeaten in the end for 23 and Georgia Adams finished things off in style with a boundary.

The Sydney Thunder Women were off to a watchful start. They were 21/1 after the end of the powerplay. Molly Strano picked up a wicket of the very second ball of the run chase for the Hobart Hurricanes Women and it meant that the pair of Athapaththu and Wilson were leading the recover job for the Sydney Thunder Women.

Wilson was dismissed for a run a ball 14 by Heather Graham as she managed to break a good partnership. Chamari Athapaththu was joined at the crease by Phoebe Litchfield at that stage and the pair kept up with the run rate as there was a bit of drizzle hovering around. The Sri Lankan veteran was piercing the gaps with ease and picking up crucial boundaries in the middle overs.

Chamari Athapaththu was dismissed by Amy Smith and the Hobart Hurricanes had put the pressure on the Sydney Thunder Women as the run rate had dropped below 6 runs per over at one stage. Post that it was the Thunder skipper Phoebe Litchfield who took on the charge along with Learoyd. Litchfield picked up a few boundaries and upped the ante. By the 16th over mark, the required run rate came down significantly and the Thunder were back in the contest.

The Sydney Thunder upped the ante in the Power Surge where Phoebe Litchfield and Anika Learoyd teed off. The skipper played a remarkable innings under pressure and she was dismissed eventually for 46. By that time, the Thunder needed just a couple of runs which they made easily in the end.

4 FOUR!! There it is. Nicely played for four runs and the Sydney Thunder Women are off to the Challenger. Carey with a good length delivery outside off, Adams waits back and opens the bat face on impact to guide it nicely in the gap between short third man and backward point for a boundary. The Hobart Hurricanes Women lose by six wickets and get knocked out of the competition.
