Milestone
That brings an end to our coverage of this game. Keep joining us for more cricketing action all around the globe. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and scorer Manish Bishnoi. Until next time, cheers and good bye.
Georgia Wareham (Player of the Match): "I just wanted to play my game. I knew that if I got caught up in just poking it around, we'd be in trouble. So, I took some risks at certain points, and that’s what worked.

I think we were pretty happy with 150. Especially the way we started, we definitely felt it was enough. Milly's performance with the ball was unbelievable. She’s been incredible for us all year, so for her to do that again today was really good.

I think every player is stepping up in different games. Everyone knows their role, which has been a deciding factor. It will be pretty special to host the final at the MCG."

5:10 PM IST, 10:40 PM Local Time: There it is. The Melbourne Renegades Women beat the Hobart Hurricanes Women convincingly and qualify for the finals. They were clinical in all three departments tonight and beat the hosts by 22 runs to book a place in the knockout stage of the Women's Big Bash League 2024.

Chasing 151, the Hurricanes Women lost Lizelle Lee on a three-ball duck. Nicola Carey was run out on two. The Hurricanes Women were reeling at 17/2 at the end of the powerplay. It was a short stay for Heather Graham (2) at four. Skipper Elyse Villani finally received support from Suzie Bates as both led the recovery work for the Hurricanes Women.

Bates got run out on 17 in the 11th over as the 36-run stand was broken. Villani scored 36 before getting cleaned up by Deandra Dottin. Chloe Tryon holed out in the deep on 24. Tabatha Saville (15) and Kathryn Bryce (16) tried hard but it was too much to do in the end as the Hurricanes Women finished their innings on 128, 22 short of the target.

It was a collective effort from the Women in Red with the ball in hand. Sophie Molineux picked up two wickets, giving away 26 runs in her four overs. The other bowlers, barring Georgia Wareham and Sarah Coyte picked up a wicket apiece as they defended the total successfully.

Earlier, the Melbourne Renegades Women won the toss and opted to bat first. They got off to a shaky start as Hayley Matthews (0) and skipper Sophie Molineux (11) fell inside the mandatory powerplay. Deandra Dottin (4) also fell cheaply. Courtney Webb looked good at the crease but departed on 22 as the Renegades Women were reduced to 53/4.

Georgia Wareham and Naomi Stalenberg built a solid partnership of 81 for the Women in Red and kept the Hurricanes Women at bay. Wareham scored 69 off 45 balls before falling in the penultimate over. Stalenberg’s 32-ball 36 powered the Renegades Women to 150/5. Nicola Carey bowled beautifully for the Hurricanes Women and registered figures of 3/26. The batters however faltered and failed to get across the line.

1 Flighted delivery on the stumps. Smith looks to drill down the ground but gets the inner half of the bat that rolls in the leg side for a single. Melbourne Renegades Women win by 22 runs and extend their winning streak to 4 matches on the trot.
