That's all we have for you from the live coverage between Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder. An entertaining Sydney Smash comes to an end all the way from SCG. For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash who, along with scorer/analyst Paras Yadav brought all the actions of this clash. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world. CHEERS!
Samantha Bates (Player of the Match): "Oh, look, it feels pretty good. I had a rather ordinary season last year, only taking five wickets, so to achieve this is pretty special. It felt like I wasn’t as affected as the pace bowlers probably were. Shabnim Ismail took four catches for the team, and I think she did a great job of making it look pretty easy today. (On Phoebe Litchfield) She's a great kid. We all absolutely adore her, and we're all behind her 100%, which is really important. Then you’ve got Heather Knight here, who’s an amazing person for Phoebe as well. There are a lot of great minds around her, and she’s just a sponge—she wants all the information. So, yeah, she’s doing really well."

11:20 AM IST & 4:50 PM Local Time| There it is! A comprehensive performance by the Women in Green. The Sydney Thunder win the Sydney Smash by 18 runs. The Phoebe Litchfield-led side continue their winning streak and remain at the top of the points table. Earlier in the day, Phoebe Litchfield won the toss and opted to bat first without any hesitation on a used surface at the SCG. The Thunder openers got their side to a flying start. Both the batters were timing the ball really well and added a 46-run opening stand. The top order made valuable contributions with the bat for the Thunder as Heather Knight (50 off 31) was the top scorer in the innings. The 3rd wicket partnership between Phoebe Litchfield and Heather Knight took the game away from the Sixers as the runs were flowing for the Thunder. In the fag end of the 1st innings, Sixers would back well and squeezed the runs but the Sydney Thunder ended up with a strong total on the board posting 158/6 from their 20 overs. Amelia Kerr (2/23) was the pick of the bowlers for the Sixers who required to chase down 159 runs from their 20 overs. In reply, similar to the Thunder batting line-up, the top order of the Sixers was really key in the run chase. Alyssa Healy was dismissed for 11 inside the powerplay and duo of Ellyse Perry (15) and Amelia Kerr (21) soon followed her back to the pavilion. It was the crucial knock from Ashleigh Gardner (49 off 36) that kept the Sixers in the run chase. The lower middle order failed to contribute with the bat at all apart from Maitlan Brown (20) as the Sydney Sixers kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were bundled out for 140 in 19.4 overs. Yet again, young captain Phoebe Litchfield marshalled her troops really well as it was Samantha Bates (3/22) who was the pick of the bowlers for the Women in Green. So the Sydney Smash belonged to the Sydney Thunder who win this fixture by 18 runs.
