That brings the curtains on our live coverage of this Women's Big Bash League game! For now, it's Soumarya Dutta taking your leave on behalf of my co-commentators, Akshay Bhide and Deepak Prakash alongside our Scorer/Analyst, Paras Yadav. See you soon!
Charis Bekker (Player of the Match): "It's a bit of a whirlwind. I was with my friends before I got the call. I was on the flight and here I am. (On picking Lanning's wicket) Don't know what to say about it to be honest. I thought I should bowl my best ball and got the wicket. The girls have been awesome and they have welcomed me really well. I know a couple of girls. Have played against them in the WNCL. I haven't thought about the next game yet. Just enjoying this moment."
Player of the Match: Charis Bekker
12:43 PM IST and 6:13 PM Local Time- The Melbourne Renegades Women have outplayed the Melbourne Stars Women here in the Melbourne Derby and they clinch this game by 15 runs. They came back strongly with the bat in the final 10 overs of their innings and from there onwards they dominated with the ball too. Deepti Sharma played a lonely hand for the Stars towards the end but she had far too much work to do and couldn't get her side over the line. The Melbourne Stars Women were off to a sluggish start. Yastika Bhatia was really slow to get off the blocks and it meant that Mackeon had to take a few risks. She was dismissed early in the piece by Illingworth and the powerplay yielded only 11 runs for the Stars. They started to fall behind as the run rate required was getting higher. Meg Lanning hit a boundary and Yastika Bhatia also got herself going with three boundaries and looked to up the ante. The running between the wickets was a real problem though and Bhatia was run out in the 8th over. Lanning took her chances and kept the scoreboard ticking over. At the halfway stage of the innings, the Stars needed 92 runs to win from 60 balls. One over from Bekker changed the course of the game as she picked up Lanning and there was the run out of McKenna. Marizanne Kapp tried to resurrect the innings after the Stars lost a flurry of wickets in the middle overs. However she was dismissed for 16 by Hayley Matthews. Heading into the final phase of the innings, the Stars needed 47 runs to win from 24 balls and the onus was on Deepti Sharma to pull off the chase with the tail. The pick of the bowlers was Charis Bekker who gave away just 9 runs in her spell and picked up a scalp. The wickets were shared amongst all the bowlers who picked up a wicket each. Hayley Matthews and Alice Capsey also bowled key overs and got the breakthroughs in the middle overs.

W A run out to finish and the Renegades Women have won the Melbourne Derby. Dottin bowls it full outside off, Garth comes down the track and drives it straight to cover point. Sets off for a quick run but her partner is not interested. The fielder stops it and throws it to Faltum who collects it and whips the bails in a flash to dismiss Garth. With this, the Melbourne Renegades Women beat the Melbourne Stars Women by 15 runs.
19.5 D Dottin to M Gibson
1lb Back of a length delivery on the body, 106.9 kmph, Gibson misses the flick. Takes a leg bye as the ball rolls off her thigh pad to the right of the keeper.
