That brings an end to our coverage of this game. Do switch tabs as the clash between Sydney Sixers Women and Melbourne Stars Women begins soon. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and scorer Chandan Kumar Singh. Bye bye.
Georgia Voll (Player of the Match): "Yeah, obviously it was nice to score some runs, but it was a really good wicket, so we knew we had to put up a big total to be able to defend it. I thought our bowlers nailed it at the end and made it look easy for us. I think it was obviously nice to come through after last night. We only got home around 11:30 or midnight, so it felt good to be able to back up our performance. That was the most important thing for us today—to come out, put up a total like that, and bowl the way we did. I thought it was really important. We’ve had a couple of days off, which is nice, but there’s a big travel day over to Perth, then a day of training before taking on the Brisbane Heat. Yeah, obviously I was on the mic last night. The commentators asked how I was doing, and I said, 'Not great.' So it was nice to come out today, hit a few to the boundary, and execute the game plan to attack from ball one. It was great that it worked out today."

1:12 PM IST, 6:42 PM Local Time: That’s it. A solid all-around display from Sydney Thunder Women and they make it two wins in a row at home. They beat the Adelaide Strikers Women comprehensively by 64 runs. The Strikers Women have been completely outplayed today and suffer their second loss of the Women’s Big Bash League 2024. Chasing a mammoth 213, the Adelaide Strikers Women got off to a shaky start as Laura Wolvaardt departed cheaply on two. Ellie Johnston joined Katie Mack and started aggressively. She scored 18 off 11 balls before falling in the sixth over. Samantha Bates trapped the Strikers skipper Tahlia McGrath on a duck in the same over as the visitors were reduced to 38/3. Madeline Penna joined Mack at the crease who was struggling to find boundaries. Penna holed out in the deep on 25 as the 52-run stand was broken in the 13th over. Orla Prendergast was dismissed cheaply on one. Mack reached her fifty in 41 balls but fell on the very next ball on 51. Jemma Barsby (22) and Anesu Mushangwe (16*) put 34 between them for the last wicket before the former fell in the last over as the Strikers Women got bundled out on 148 to lose the game by 64 runs. It was a collective effort from the Thunder Women with the ball. Samantha Bates was the standout bowler for them. She registered figures of 4/21 in her four overs. Shabnim Ismail also bowled beautifully and picked up three wickets, conceding 18 runs in her 3.2 overs as they defended the total successfully. Earlier in the day, Sydney Thunder Women got off to a rollicking start after electing to bat first. Georgia Voll played some magnificent strokes upfront and took on the Strikers’ bowlers. She along with Chamari Athapaththu put 54 between them for the first wicket before the latter fell on 17. Voll was joined by her skipper Phoebe Litchfield as both continued to score at a brisk rate. Voll brought up a fantastic fifty. Litchfield holed out in the deep one short of her fifty as the 94-run stand was broken in the 14th over. Heather Knight came out all guns blazing at four. Voll scored 92 off 55 balls before falling in the penultimate over. Her knock comprised 12 fours and three maximums. Knight’s 15-ball 28 cameo propelled Thunder Women to 212/5, their highest-ever total in the history of the competition. Orla Prendergast was the pick of the bowlers for the Adelaide Strikers Women. She picked up three wickets and gave away 35 runs in her four overs. The others went on a journey throughout the innings. The batters then failed to get going and they fell short by 64 runs.
