That's all we have for you folks as the 2 Match Test Series between Pakistan and Bangladesh comes to an end. A memorable test series win for the Bangla Tigers.
For now this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ninaad Dixit and scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer as we brought all the live ball by ball actions of this day! Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world. TATA BYE BYE 👋🏼
Najmul Hossain Shanto has been handed over the trophy as he joins him team who lift it altogether. A Test Series victory which they will remember for many many years to come!
Najmul Hossain Shanto (Bangladesh Captain): "Well it means a lot for us, we cant express in words. Before we came here, we wanted to win the series and everyone is really really happy.
(On the Pacers) Very Impressive, the way they worked hard in the nets and behind the scenes, shows that they wanted to win for their team so I am very proud.
Yeah the way Shadman and Zakir batted was simply brilliant. They took responsibilities and lets hope they take it forward.
Yeah the next series is very important (vs INDIA) and as you said the experienced players, Mushi bhai, Shakib bhai have been just brilliant so I know they will work hard to do the same in the next series.
Yeah really happy with Mehidy with the way he bowled in this series. I am sure the entire unit will do well for us in our upcoming games. Well the credit goes to the entire team including the four players who were not part of our playing XI too. We will celebrate as a unit. The party is on the management (Laughs) as we have to travel back home."
Shan Masood (Pakistan Captain): "Extremely disappointed when you start the home season like this. The story has been the same as Australia. We have learned our lessons. We need to work on finishing games. In both games where we could have bowled them out especially in this game when we let them back in the game from 26/6. That's something which has happened in my tenure consistently in 4 matches.
Test cricket demands fitness. We played with 4 fast bowlers because the load on 3 will be a lot and that's what happened here. Agha and Abrar with 2 fast bowlers isn't enough. Test cricket demands you to be fit for 5 days whether you are a batter or a bowler.
When we lost the first day to bad weather. 274 was a really good fight. There were 30s and 40s and there were partnerships as well but we didn't convert in a big score as Litton Das. We needed one wicket back then but we couldn't. We need to learn as it is a big Test season for Pakistan.
You always keep trying and learn from your mistakes. We are heading in the right direction. We had Khurram, Mohammad Ali, Mir Hamza played this series. We have Shaheen and Naseem back as well. You can't just throw them in every game as they play 3 formats all around the year.
We have a month now before England and before that it will be a good season internationally and domestically for us."
Mehidy Hasan Miraz (Player of the Series): "First of all I would like to thank God for giving me this opportunity and this is my first award outside my home, so I am really happy.
Well it is a tough job to bat at Number 8 but I enjoyed my batting with Litton Das, Mushfiqur Rahim as they are experienced players. Yeah it is a really brilliant achievement for me to pick five wicket haul and I want to do better.
Yeah I didnot play the T20 World Cup, I would like to give a lot of credit to my support staff for always backing me and I enjoyed practicing at home. Yeah my teammates have been very supportive to me and I really loved it.
(In Bengali) I would like to dedicate to my Bangladeshi Supporters that I have been have awarded as the Player of the Series. As we know back in Bangladesh, we have had a tough time as a rickshaw person has lost his life so I would like to dedicate this award to his family."
Mehidy Hasan Miraz is the player of the series.
Litton Das (Player of the Match): "Just believed in myself. Pakistan bowled really well in that half. Me and Miraz discussed to bat long. He hit few boundaries and shifted the momentum. After lunch it got easier.
When Hasan came, I didn't had any scoring opportunities so I took time and played as many overs I could. That was the key for me. Credit goes to Hasan as well.
I like keeping in a Test match because its my role. My team also did well. When we came here, back home the situation wasn't good. We practiced here and won. It is about team effort. Credit goes to all my teammates and the coaching staff."
Litton Das is the Player of the Match.
