So, India lose a Test series at home after 12 long years. They will be hoping to bounce back in the series and avoid a whitewash. The third and final Test begins in Mumbai on Friday (November 1). Do join us for that. Also keep joining us for more cricketing action all around the globe.
For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Ajay Pal Singh and scorer Yogesh Kumar. Until next time, cheers and good bye.
Mitchell Santner (Player of the Match): "Felt it was the hardest time in the second innings. Credit must go to India for the way they played in the second innings. Credit to Jaiswal for playing that way. But a name was on it and happy to get on the right side.
My side is a bit sore. 20 overs on the rope. I felt it early on. But it was the kind of situation of going for the team and every time I got a wicket, it got better.
It's nice to contribute to the team. A very pleasant feeling for us to get a win here for the first time. Two days off before we go again in Mumbai.
Every time you pick wickets, you get confidence. I felt the same during this Test. Just land the ball in the same spot consistently and vary some pace."

Tom Latham (New Zealand Captain): "Yeah, it is very special feeling. Proud to be in this position. It is not just me, but the whole team did well. Just stoked for the guys in the team.
Yeah, it is really special. You come here and you always want to compete. We spoke about last week, to focus on this game and stay on our feet. Wanted to put runs on the board and that's what we did. Santner has been around for a while and glad to see him bowl so well when he got the opportunity.
I think we did not play too bad in Sri Lanka. We came here and talked about playing the long game. Both surfaces were completely different and we adapted well.
To adapt and put ourselves in front was good. GP played well to get us so far ahead. In the middle session, not only Mitch but Phillips and Ajaz bowled well as well. When Timmy caught that last one, we were overjoyed."
Rohit Sharma (India Captain): "Disappointing. It's not what we expected. But again you got to give credit to New Zealand. They played better than us. We failed to capitalize on the moments and we sit here on the wrong side.
Look, I didn't think we batted well enough in both innings to get score. If you want to win Test matches, you have to take 20 wickets but the batters will have to score runs. We were behind in the game. It was a great fightback from us to get them under 230 but it was challenging. We thought we could chase down the target but continuous pressure from both sides meant that we couldn't respond to those challenges.
Look to be honest, the way they started out, they were like 200 odd for three. For us to come back and get them for 259, it was a great effort from us. Not much was happening on that wicket and we didn't bat well enough. If we had managed to get closer to their first-innings total, things would have been different. But New Zealand played well.
We have to show up at Wankhede and try to win it. Not looking too ahead. It's a collective effort. I'm not someone who will blame the batters or bowlers. It's a collective effort. We will come up with better plans and better methods to bounce back at Wankhede."
