1:56 AM IST, 9:26 PM Local Time:Sussex are heading to Birmingham for the finals day joining the likes of Surrey. The Sharks beat Lancashire Lightning by 8 wickets in convincing fashion to seal their spot in the semis.
Sussex won the toss and decided to bowl. James Coles (2/9), Jofra Archer (2/20), Ollie Robinson (2/27), Brad Currie (2/16) and Jack Carson (1/3) helped bundle the visitors out for 114 in 15.3 overs.
Openers Harrison Ward (27 off 18) and Daniel Hughes (35 off 22) added 39 in 4.2 overs providing a brilliant start for the hosts in pursuit of 115. Luke Wood swung the ball early and dismissed Ward with Liam Livingstone sending Hughes back after the powerplay.
Tom Clark at number 3 remained unbeaten with 24 off 19 alongside James Coles who patiently scored 27 in 26 balls to guide Sussex to a historic T20 win against Lancashire. Livingstone (1/17) was the pick of the bowlers, Wood (1/22) was expensive in his 2 overs.
Tom Aspinwall (0/13) and Luke Wells (0/25) tried to restrict the scoring rate but Lancs never had enough runs to back the bowlers. Sussex becomes the 2nd team to confirm their spot in the finals day with Surrey winning the first quarterfinal yesterday. Sussex will play the winner of Birmingham v Gloucestershire in the 2nd semi final.

The home side have booked their spot for the Finals Day of the T20 Blast 2024. Back of a length delivery at the stumps, Clark backs away, cuts it past the diving extra cover fielder, the ball races to the fence for a boundary as Sussex win the contest by 8 wickets and with 35 balls to spare.
Sussex are just 1 run away from victory. It will be their first win against Lancashire in T20 cricket.
