For now, this is AyanChatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentators SoumaryaDutta alongside scorer/analyst Asraj Khan and Chandan Kumar Singh. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodnight and CHEERS!
MurtazaTrunkwala (CSKCaptain): "Yes, obviously. I enjoyed it and expressed myself. They had a powerhouse batting line up. The bowlers bowled well and fielders fielded well as well. I always love batting with Om and gets the odd boundary here and there. Enjoy batting with him. 75-run partnership earlier and 100-runs today. Yes, we had a good day today and run outs helped us. Fielding was good. To beat top of the table team gives us boost and focus on basics and hope to do well. That was my aim today."
Om Bhosale (Player of the Match, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Kings) - I'm glad that the team won and we got over the line. Our captain has given me a lot of confidence and it became really easy for me. I've played for a long time now and I enjoy whatever role that is given to me. My preparation has been good and the coaching staff has given me a lot of confidence. With my parents coming in to watch, it has given me the extra bit of motivation.
Player of the Match and Orange Cap Holder: Om Bhosale.
Time for the presentations.
Azim Kazi(Ratnagiri Jets Captain): "Actually, Madam. We were short with the bat. We wanted to do better with the bat but we were short. It is one of those days for us. The plan was to bat normally. We lost wickets in the middle overs and that's where we lost the game. We tried hard and it went against us. Today fielding was bad. Batters missed out and bowlers were not there. One of those days, where everything went against us. We want to rest the two days that we have been given. We will come out fresh and firing and the body takes a toll on you as well. Schedule is demanding. Hope to come back fresh in the coming games."
22:45 IST and Local time - Chhatrapati Sambhaji Kings finish off with 8 wickets in hand and 13 balls to spare. It was an Om Bhosale special that saw the CSK home against defending champions Ratnagiri Jets. They bowled well first up and and batted exceptionally well in the second innings as they didn't even give their opponents a chance.
Chhatrapati Sambhaji Kings started off with a superb first over that set the tone for their run chase. They smashed the bowlers all over the park in the powerplay as they struggled to keep their lengths right and got past 60 in the first six overs! Both Trunkwala and Om Bhosale were aggressive and the Ratnagiri Jets couldn't find a way to break the stand.
The woes for the Jets continued due to their poor fielding as they gave away 8 runs in overthrows needlessly and also there was a missed stumping chance by the keeper. It helped the CSK to consolidate as the openers brought up the 100 run stand in the 11th over with the target just being a formality in the remaining phase of the innings.
The breakthrough came as Pawale picked up a couple of wickets in quick succession to push the Super Kings a bit on the backfoot. The run rate dipped a bit as the Jets tried to comeback. Om Bhosale though was resolute and ensured that there were no further hiccups as he took his side over the line with youngster Digvijay Patil.
