That’s all we have for you from the live coverage between West Indies and England from the fifth and final T20I encounter of the series which has been called off due to rain. The Tour of England to West Indies comes to an end as the visitors clinch the T20I Series 3-1.
West Indies have a home series coming up against Bangladesh (2 Tests, 3 ODIs and 2 T20Is) starting from the 22nd November. While, England will play red ball cricket now as they will travel to New Zealand for a 3-match Test Series starting from 28th November.
For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of my co-commentator AkshayaKrishna Polya who, along with scorer/analyst Yogesh Kumar brought all the actions of this clash. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Jos Buttler now walks up to the Chief Executive officer at West Indies cricket, Mr. Lynford Inverary who hands over the trophy to the England Captain. Buttler hands it over to the youngsters and the photoshoots begin. England win the T20I Series 3-1.
Jos Buttler (England Captain): "Obviously delighted. We had a few close calls but played some brilliant cricket early on. Delighted with the win.
We started all the games well. Those powerplay wickets with the new ball, the player of the series, Saqib Mahmood, set the tone, and lots of guys chipped in, pleased for everybody.
A nice stock of fast bowlers with their own varieties is an exciting time for England men's cricket in all formats. I had more time to think in the field without the gloves. Got everything out of it I wanted to.
We've got the winning habit back. Series win, different guys standing up at different moments."
Rovman Powell (West Indies Captain): "Yeah, definitely it has been a tough series. A lot of credit needs to be given to Jos and his side for dominating in our own den.
We were good in patches but we did not do well as a collective group. The batting group did not stand up and also we need to look into our bowling as well.
Obviously, in West Indies we are always used to play for different formats. We hardly stay together but we have to be strong.
We have to assess this series and improve our cricket. Lot of credit needs to be given to Jos and his team who have played some brilliant cricket in this series."
Saqib Mahmood (Player of the Series): "I just think, as a group, we spoke about having the mindset of taking wickets to get the rewards, which is nice. Having the mindset to take wickets and back it up is nice.
It is nice from my side; I had worked hard to come back into the England team. Nice to be back and to perform is pleasing.
Coming to the Caribbean, you know that the wind would be a major factor. I am really happy to perform in this series. The crosswinds meant I'd have to work on my away-swinger, with Reece Topley and Jofra Archer swinging it back in from the other end. We've got a lot of fast bowlers, fit and healthy.
Winning the third game, it was tight and of course, winning the series was nice."
Player of the Series: Saqib Mahmood

3:43 AM IST & 6:13 PM Local Time| That is it folks! Both the skippers shake hands and we are done. The 5th and final T20I between West Indies and England has been abandoned due to rain. A disappointing end to the T20I Series as rain played spoilsport in the fifth and final T20I in St Lucia. However, England already had sealed the series after winning the first three games on the trot and clinch the series 3-1.
A short recap of this contest. Yet again it was Jos Buttler who made the right call and won his 4th toss of the series. The visitors opted to bowl without a second thought. A couple of changes were made by England while the solitary change from the Windies was the return of Romario Shepherd who made his 50th T20I appearance for West Indies.
We just had 5 overs in the innings before the rain came down hard. 5 overs of seam bowling from England who conceded 44 runs and the Windies did not lose a single wicket. Shai Hope (14* off 10) had a watchful start to his innings. His partner on the other hand meant business straightaway. Evin Lewis (29* off 20) was on the mood tonight as he smashed 3 Fours and 2 Sixes in his unbeaten knock. He equaled the record with the ‘Universe Boss’ Chris Gayle, to be the joint second-highest six-hitter for the Windies in the shortest format of the game.
At the end of the 5th over, out of nowhere it started to rain and it came down really hard. The pace kept increasing and it did not stop. The ground staff tried their best but gave up at the end as it continued to pour down for hours in St Lucia. The final match of the series has been abandoned due to rain. Stay tuned for the Post-Match Presentation.
