That's all from this rain-hit contest, folks! Washington Freedom faced their first defeat in this MLC and they would look to stage a comeback in the playoffs. We hope you enjoyed our coverage. Corey Anderson (San Francisco Unicorns Captain): "(On Krishnamurthi's knock) I'm not surprised. We've seen glimpses of it plenty of times, and I'm hugely proud of how he performed today. I know the whole group is as well. And look, he's only 20, so he's still a young kid. He's got such a mature head on his shoulders. I'm excited for him and for leading him into these finals. He's going to be a big player for us.
We have great depth in our squad, and things can change quickly in this competition, so we need to be ready for anything. Hassan Khan is a key player for us; he can bat and bowl in the middle order, and we can rely on him at any stage of the innings."
Steve Smith (Washington Freedom Captain): "Yes, i thought we played nicely. We were in for a big score and then rain came. 177 was a decent score to defend but they batted well. Great game of cricket.
Take the game on. Travis has done really well and we compliment well with each other. I got a quick start and then it never happens but love batting with him.
Good question. It was challenging for the bowlers with the wet ball. They batted well and credit to them.
Tough time to bowl and we really struggled. But they tried their best. It happens. We will put this to bed and come back stronger in the next game."
Sanjay Krishnamurthi (Most Valuable Player of the Match): "I want to thank God for the opportunity. I wanted to take my chances, and it paid off today. I've been working on the mental side of my game since I joined the team last year."
Most Valuable Player of the Match: Sanjay Krishnamurthi.
Play of the Day: Tajinder Singh
Power Hitter of the Match: Sanjay Krishamurthi (315 feet).
