That brings an end to our coverage of this game. Keep joining us for more cricketing action all around the globe. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Pritam Dey and scorer Raju Khariya. Until next time, cheers and good bye.
Sophie Devine (New Zealand Women Captain): "Well I am just incredibly proud of my team. Obviously, everyone have been speaking about our recent results but to perform like this against a strong Indian side speaks volumes.

Yeah, I think we have been targeting this game since a long time now. We have taken inspiration from the Blackcaps as they had a lot of successful in world cups too against India but for us to come out here and lay a mark as a ground was incredible to takeaway.

Well, the two openers set the platform really well for us. They batted freely at the top of the order and the stage was set for the remaining batters to play their natural game and take us to a strong total. Batters like, Amelia Kerr, Halliday may not have scored much runs but their contributions have been really valuable.

Yeah, look we spoke about 150 being a par score but we have managed to get 10 runs more to be honest. We know how strong this India Women team is but we have bowled really well to execute our plans and bowl them out.

(On facing Australia next game) Well we probably know them too well because we faced them recently. I certainly think, we will take a lot of confidence from this game and we will be licking our slips to play our next game against them."
Harmanpreet Kaur (India Women Captain): "Well definitely we didn't play our best cricket today. Going forward, we have to see what areas we need to improve and bring our best game in the upcoming games.

We created chances but unfortunately we were not able to hold onto those chances. It's a part and parcel of the game. They played better cricket than us. Still, our bowlers did well. Our fielders did the mistakes. In these high-pressure games, you can't really afford to make those mistakes.

We have chased down many times 160-170. We weren't expecting 160 on this wicket. I feel we gave 10-15 extra runs. We kept losing wickets and I mean going forward, we have to learn how to go from now on.

Still, we managed pretty well. With the way they started, I thought they would get 180. But we did well. We know this group is not easy. This is not the start we were expecting. But we have to see how we have to work as a bowling group and as a batting group."
Sophie Devine (Player of the Match): "Look I thought the platform from Bates and Plimmer set the tone for us. We spoke about capitalizing on the overs 7-10 or 7-12. We slowed down a bit but happy to get to that total in the end.

It was a tough wicket I thought. Pace off and trying to find the gap was a bit difficult. I had to muscle it and find the boundary. I thought if I spend some time in the middle, I can catch up.

This group has worked incredibly hard for the last six months and happy to get the rewards for it."

10:51 PM IST & 9:21 PM Local Time| A fantastic overall performance from New Zealand Women who have comprehensively defeated India Women by 58 runs. The 10-match losing streak comes to an end for New Zealand Women. The biggest margin victory for the White Ferns against India Women in T20Is in terms of runs.

The White Ferns were right on top of their game from the beginning of the game, executed their plans and delivered at the middle. Earlier in the day, Sophie Devine opted to bat first after winning the toss. They got off to a flying start with the bat in a good batting surface. The New Zealand Women openers, Suzie Bates (27) and Georgia Plimmer (34) went hard in the powerplay 55 runs in the opening 6 overs without losing any wicket.

Spin was operated by Harmanpreet Kaur from both ends post the powerplay and India Women managed to dismiss both the New Zealand Women openers in a span of four deliveries.

India Women squeezed the runs at the middle phase of the Innings but it required the experience of Sophie Devine who batted till the end and took her side to an above par total.

The New Zealand Skipper paced her Innings really well and smashed 7 Fours in her knock. Contributions from Amelia Kerr (13) and Brooke Halliday (16) but it was the New Zealand Women skipper, Sophie Devine (57* off 36) who was the top scorer in the Innings. New Zealand Women ended up with 160/4 from their 20 overs.

India Women were really poor in the field as an unit. Renuka Singh Thakur (2/27) was the pick of the bowlers for India Women. So the target for India Women was 161 runs to chase from their 20 overs.

In reply, India Women got off to a horrid start. Shafali Verma was the first to be dismissed cheaply for 2 in the 2nd over. She was soon followed by her Skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur (15) and Smriti Mandhana (12) back to the pavilion as India Women lost their 3 wickets inside the powerplay.

The asking rate kept climbing as the game progressed and India Women never got going in the run chase. Sophie Devine marshalled her troops really well as the White Ferns kept picking wickets at regular intervals. India Women were eventually bundled out for 102 with an over to spare and lost the encounter by 58 runs. A day to forget for the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side who were poor in all the three departments of the game.

India Women not only lost their opening game but have been massively hit by the net run-rate early in the tournament by losing this encounter by a massive margin.
