Milestone
That's it from us from this ODI series between Ireland and South Africa where South Africa have won it by 2-1 margin. For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Arjun Bhalla, Deepak Prakash and Ayan Chatterjee alongside our scorer/analyst Yogesh Kumar. Good night
Rassie van der Dussen, the stand-in skipper for South Africa collects the series trophy 🏆 and joins his team for the photographs. 📸
Rassie van der Dussen (South Africa Captain): "I think we didn’t fully appreciate after the first two games how much the conditions change at night. Their bowlers put us under pressure in the first two matches, and they showed again tonight that they have a quality bowling attack. But yeah, we just weren’t good enough tonight to overcome that difference in the conditions. However, I thought they played a brilliant game.

Full credit to them—they batted well and neutralized the threat of the new ball. Their bowlers were spot on with the new ball, taking the game out of our hands. Jason Smith, Rickelton, Stubbs, and Lizaad, who is now one of the senior players, all put in strong performances."
Lizaad Williams (Player of the Series): "We just found that nip backers are the most effective ball. Wobble seam was an effective option. The wicket was a bit slower and the new ball was moving both ways. Lot of credit to their openers for doing well.

Thank you very much for your good wishes."
Player of the Series: Lizaad Williams
Paul Stirling (Player of the Match and Ireland Captain): "Yeah, thankful that we won the toss today. There was a big difference in the conditions. The pitch was much slower in the first innings but sped up later.

It was a relief to finally cross the line. We fell slightly short in the last two matches, so we're thrilled to win this one. The game plan remained the same—it was about staying in the game. Today, we handled the conditions better."
Player of the Match: Paul Stirling
Jason Smith (Impact Player of the Match): "I mean it's always tough coming in these situations. They bowled really well and then I took my time to settle in. I was very nervous in the start, got a few chirps. But I took it step by step and built the innings."
