Chasing 195 for the win, the Bears got off to a steady start as the skipper Alex Davies scored 47 off30 balls. Rob Yates fell early. Dan Mousley scored 35, Sam Hain scored 10. Jacob Bethell played a lone hand and scored 50 off 32balls. George Garton put up a fight and scored 19 off 9 balls in the end. But they lost wickets in clusters in and around and were eventually bowled out for 168 in 18.4 overs. 2 extras given by the fielding side.
Ben Raine was the pick of the bowlers for Durham as he picked up 5/21 in 3.4overs. A couple of wickets at the top for Matthew Potts. A wicket apiece to Callum Parkinson, Nathan Sowter, and Ashton Turner. Good effort from the Durham bowlers.
Earlier in the game, Durham won the toss and decided to bat first. They lost their openers cheaply as Clark and Lees fell for single digit scores. David Bedingham was the star with the bat with his 63 coming off 27 balls. Ollie Robinson scored 25 off 18 balls. Ashton Turner looked good for his 33 off 24 balls. Ben Raine scored 13 off 8 balls. Paul Coughlin scored 16 off 14 balls while Matthew Potts scored 14 off 7 balls. 12 extras given by the fielding side as Durham ended with 194/9 in 20 overs.
For the Bears bowlers, it was hard work initially before they pegged things back a bit towards the end. GeorgeGarton was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/41 in 4overs. A couple of wickets apiece for Dan Mousley and Jake Lintott. While Hasan Ali also picked up a wicket under his name. They tried, but it was a bridge too far in the end.
So, Durham beats Warwickshire by 26 runs in this North Group fixture and climbs upwards in the points table.
Raine finishes things off in style as he gets a five wicket haul as Durham are victorious at the end of the day.
