That is the end of an entertaining season of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024. Congratulations to St Lucia Kings for their maiden CPL title. The celebrations will go on and on for a long, long time. Agony for Guyana Amazon Warriors as they fail to defend the title in front of a packed home crowd.

This is me AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ajay Pal Singh and scorer/analyst Bishal Mandal, who brought you all the live action of this thrilling finale. We will meet again. Until then, its cheers!
The St Lucia Kings' players are ready to celebrate. Daren Sammy takes a look at the silverware before he keeps it where it was on the podium. Faf du Plessis collects the trophy and does the slow 'Trophy Walk' like Lionel Messi did after winning the FIFA World Cup 2022 and joins the celebration with his team.
Faf du Plessis (St Lucia Kings Captain): "Yeah, the big man was good for us tonight. So happy for the guys who have been here for a long time. Daren Sammy has been here for 10-14 years. It is one of the most loudest crowds in CPL. Against this opposition, in front of a big crowd - there's no bigger place to play a final. I would have liked it a little bit easier but that's how cricket is, a low scoring thriller.

At the toss, I wasn't sure what to do. Now looking back chasing 139 in the final was a good decision. I think we got off to a good start but some good bowling in the middle brought them into the game. If you see in the last few overs run scoring was easy for both sides with the ball getting wet because of dew.

We always said there is going to be opportunity for others. Jones finished it well. They bowled well, in a chase, you never want to go bang, bang, bang and we did that, lost wickets in clusters. At one stage, I felt the game was slipping away from us.

The chat was to ask Jones to go because you don't want to leave someone like a David Wiese waiting in the dugout. That sparked something in him (Jones) and he went off.

I think as a team effort I am proud of the guys. For St Lucia, right from the Olympic gold medal there were questions whether this could be our year and that's why I said I am happy for the guys who have been here for long time."
Time for St Lucia Kings to accept their winners medals.
Imran Tahir (Guyana Amazon Warriors Captain): "Look, to be honest, we didn't start well with the bat. We lost too many wickets. With dew coming in, it was not a big total. Tough luck tonight. I want to congratulate St Lucia Kings.

Things didn't go our way. A couple leg before wicket didn't go our way and missed the wickets. We were going to do the same as well. We would have bowled first as well with the dew around.

We could have batted a bit better and got to around 170. That is good score on this pitch, especially with the spinners we have.

Just one over took it away. Didn't work out well for Moeen tonight. It happens.

We like to keep Shepherd as late as we can. The other batters had a lot of dot balls. They didn't try and rotate strike. We keep Shephy (Romario Shepherd) for the last few overs. He is very good in that phase of play. We sent him at the right time. I was happy with Shephy. We needed him for the last four or five overs. It's the top order that missed out on some execution tonight.

Its just one over. It could have gone anywhere. A wicket, all of a sudden, things change. Things were going really well; they needed 13 an over. We were putting pressure on them. It could be one more dismissal, and you never know. I am very proud of the boys and the way we played throughout the competition. Thank you.

One thing. I want to congratulate Dwayne Bravo for the wonderful career he had. He has been a role model for the youth. All the best for whatever he does or wherever he goes next."
The Guyana Amazon Warriors players now accept their runners-up medals.
Time for match officials to receive their medals.
