S Ganesh is batting very well and he was promoted up the order today. When i bowled the last ball i felt i pulled something in my shoulder. Need to check that."
22:50 IST and Local Time: Chepauk Super Gillies win it by 15 runs and register their first win of the season. A terrific bowling display by them to defend a low total. ITT are yet to register their first win of the season. So, here is how the game panned out.
Put to bat first, CSG batters posted a decent total of 157/6 in their 20 overs. They did bat well against the new ball and also against the spinners but did well to get a decent finish to their innings credit to Pradosh Ranjan Paul who played a brilliant innings of 67* of 46 balls and made sure his team got to around 160.
With the ball, IDTT were excellent with the new ball and picked up two crucial wickets inside the power play. S Mohamed Ali was the pick of the bowlers for them and picked up 3 wickets to his name. T Natarajan, P Bhuvaneswaran and Mathivanan also bowled well and picked up a wicket each.
Coming to the chase, IDTT started slowly and did not attack much inside the power play. Their top order could not convert their starts and were dismissed cheaply. The impact player S Ganesh was brought in at number 4 and played an excellent innings of 61 off just 35 balls and took the game deep.
With the ball, CSG bowlers were top notch and bowled brilliantly to defend a low total on this track. They were a bit expensive in the middle overs but pulled back things nicely in the death. Ganeshan Periyaswamy was the pick of the bowlers for them and ended his spell with the figures of 2/18 in his 4 overs.
