Pat Cummins (Australia Captain): "Yeah tonight we got it done. It would have been better if I had witnessed the winning runs sitting on the change room but yeah, we got it done tonight. Yeah, I was really happy with the way guys bowled in the 1st Innings. Obviously Starc was terrific at the top and all the others played their roles really well with the ball. Yeah, I tried to bowl different bowlers. Marnus was always in my ears so I had to give him an over but it worked out well. I think for three quarters it was really good for us but it was the partnerships which we lacked. We tried to be aggressive but sometimes it does not work so we need to work on building up a couple of more partnerships."
Mohammad Rizwan (Pakistan Captain): "We decided to bowl according to the situation. I feel it was the result of our character and it was great to see the courage from the boys. It was good. I learnt from things. Credit to the bowlers from both sides. I was keeping myself busy with field changes. We have seen we get a lot of support from the fans. Haris bowled really well. All the four bowlers, the execution was very good. We decided that we will use only five bowlers and don't require the sixth bowler. Happy with their effort."
Mitchell Starc (Player of the Match): "Yeah it is always nice to start the summer with a win and also in a positive way with the group. We were looking for powerplay wickets and I think it was a positive effort with the ball there and we got the job done. Yeah, it did swing a little bit there and also we were a bit sloppy in the field but it was a good batting wicket. We batted really well, lost wickets in the middle phase but recovered really well to get over the line. Yes it is obviously a really important summer for us. Obviously, the important Test Series but we also have a few white ball games as well."
