Okay! That's a nail-biter if you want to call it. A game where the scores hovered around 150, RR held their nerves to seal the deal in a last-over thriller. Tomorrow, we have a cracking double-header coming our way, with KKR facing LSG at Eden Gardens in the afternoon game before the El Clasico between MI and CSK gets underway at Wankhede in the evening.
For now, this is me AkshayaKrishna Polya signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Akshay Bhide, who, alongside our scorer/analyst Paras Yadav brought you all the live-action of this mouth-watering fixture. We will meet again. Until then, its cheers!
Shimron Hetmyer (POTM): "Yeah, I am alright, but there was an inside edge that deflected onto my knee. But I will be alright.
I practice hard. I try to back myself for batting in these situations in the nets. I try as much as possible in the nets. I try my best to hit sixes. Sometimes, it comes off; sometimes, you can't. Happy to pull off a victory for my team tonight.
After a couple of balls, the pressure was creeping on me, but I was as clear as possible about my job.
After missing a couple of deliveries first up in the final over, Boult came to me and said you have got this, mate.
Yeah, definitely. I would have taken a single if it was there on offer with two needed off two. We (Boult and me) spoke about it. Single or double whatever was offered at that stage, we were going for it. We were looking to get it tied A full toss came my way, and I was like (chuckles), backed myself and went for the six.
Being away from family is the only way you can keep yourself upbeat, by just enjoying every moment and doing everything you need to. I am waiting for my wife to come; she will do it (chuckles on asking about dying the hair pink)."
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Shimron Hetmyer
Sanju Samson (Rajasthan Royals Skipper):"We had some funny incidents from last year. But I'm really happy that everyone is eager to go and catch it. It gets bit tough when the stadium is full. But I have to tell my fast bowlers that it is easy for me to catch with gloves on (laughs).
I don't know what's it with us and Punjab. The games are getting tense. It's quite funny and it's good to see.
Hetmyer has been doing that for years and years. His composure and skills really help us. It was great to see him and Powell do those things.
Tanush is a very interesting player. He had an outstanding Ranji trophy and everyone is impressed on seeing him bat in the nets. We had a proper settled batting line-up and we didn't want to disturb that for one game.
It was good to see Yashasvi get back scoring runs. He scored those 30-40 runs and it was good to see him get back in the groove.
Can't stay relaxed in this type of tournament. We did many right things in the last game but still lost. We just have to keep our heads down and keep doing the things.
Most Fours of the Match: Yashasvi Jaiswal (4 Fours)
