That’s all from our today’s coverage of T20 Blast 2024 between Nottinghamshire Outlaws and Northamptonshire Steelbacks at Trent Bridge. Gourav Samal here is signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ajay Pal Singh and scorer/analyst Bishal Mandal. Thank you for joining us. Stay tuned for all cricketing updates around the world. Good night.
1:26 AM IST & 8:56 PM Local Time: That's it! Northamptonshire Steelbacks have absolutely thrashed Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge to register their second successive win of the season. They chased down the 155-run target with 8 wickets and 40 balls to spare. David Willey led from the front with the bat, scoring 79 off just 34 balls.

Matthew Breetzke remained unbeaten on 51 and Ravi Bopara added the finishing touches to the chase with a knock of 19 off 13.

Earlier in the match, Northamptonshire won the toss and opted to bowl. Nottinghamshire's skipper Joe Clarke played a fine knock off 48 but his opening partner, Alex Hales failed, departing for 6 off 7.

Jack Haynes scored a half-century but once he lost his wicket, the middle-order failed to make any notable contribution. Nottinghamshire were bowled out for 154 in 19.2 overs. Saif Zaib and George Scrimshaw picked up three wickets apiece while David Willey, Raphael Weatherall and Sikandar Raza picked up one wicket each.

In reply, Northamptonshire lost Ricardo Vasconcelos in the first over. However, Willey took charge of the run chase and smashed everyone to all parts of the Trent Bridge. His quick-fire knock of 79 off 34 took the game away from the hosts.

He smashed Calvin Harrison for four consecutive sixes and as he was looking to go for the fifth one, he perished.

Breetzke made sure that there was no anti-climax in the chase as he along with the experienced Ravi Bopara took the team over the finish line to complete an emphatic victory.
13.2 M Montgomery to M Breetzke
4 FOUR!! That's it. Breetzke does the job with boundary. This looked like an one sided affair when David Willey took the crease. Slightly short of length on off, Breetzke shuffles back and heaves it over the head of the bowler to find the fence to win the match by eight wickets. With it Breetzke also brings up his half-century.
13.1 M Montgomery to M Breetzke
0 Flighted on off, on length, Breetzke pushes it back to the bowler. No run.
Another expensive over, 16 runs off it. Now Northamptonshire just need 2 runs for the win off 42 balls.

6 SIXXX!!! Length and a slower delivery outside off, Bopara waits for it and strikes it over point for a maximum. That's class by Ravi Bopara.
