That's all from this contest, folks! Bangladesh U19 outplayed Nepal U19 by 5 wickets and 148 balls to spare, keeping their hopes alive in the tournament. For now, this is Deepak Prakash signing off on behalf of co-commentators Ayan Chatterjee, Soumarya Dutta, and scorer/analyst Yogesh Kumar. CHEERS!
Mahfuzur Rahman Rabby (Bangladesh U19 Captain): "[Emotions in India vs Bangladesh, Bangladesh vs Nepal, and some other neighboring countries] Yeah, obviously our boys are really excited about these kinds of things.

Yes, I think our batters did really well, especially one good side is, that Jishan came back really well and Ariful's knocking was good. I think this is very good for us. We need improvement in bowling and also in the fielding."

Dev Khanal (Nepal U19 Captain): "Yeah, definitely. We were 50-60 runs short. A couple of guys didn't play to their potential. There are a couple of good batters, but they are not showing what they can do. But one match to go so looking forward to it on a positive note.

[Learnings] Yeah, definitely a couple of strike rotations and single doubles might take this game a bit deeper and it will be easy for the batters as well to calculate those runs. Looking forward to calculating some runs by scoring grounded shots, finding some big gaps, and playing single doubles.

A couple of good things to take from this game but not happy with the performance. Definitely, because we can play some good cricket as well. We have shown in the league matches as well, but today's hard luck for us.

Yeah, it's cricket. It can happen in every single game, and these guys are known for some chirps and, definitely, friendly banter off the field. You have to be friendly, and you have to be joking around with some friends as well. So in the game, it's casual, and it's fine as well."
Rohanat Doullah Borson (Player of the Match): "Well, to be honest, it wasn't a left out. The management just gave me a rest so I could prepare myself for the Super Sixes. Yeah, I'm quite pleased with my performance. And what I'm more pleased about is that we have won the match and we have kept our semifinal dreams alive, so that's more pleasing to me. And the surface was, as I mentioned earlier, that it looked like it was fast, but it wasn't that fast.

It was still a good wicket to bat on and our batters have done pretty well and we have successfully chased down the total in just 25 overs. We know a lot about ourselves and we have been very honest with our work and we've been doing everything told by the trainers, everything told by the physio."

7:24 PM IST, 3:54 PM Local Time: Bangladesh U19 thumped Nepal U19 by 5 wickets with 148 balls to spare. Subash Bhandari, the lone warrior for Nepal U19, bagged his 5-fer but didn't get any support from the other bowlers; otherwise, things could have been different.

Earlier, after opting to bat first, Nepal U19 got off to a shaky start, losing three wickets inside the first powerplay. Dev Khanal and Bishal Bikram KC started the rescue mission, and the pair added 60+ runs for the fourth wicket, but Jishan Alam trapped Dev for 35 runs and ceased the budding partnership. On the other hand, Bishal fell just 2 runs short of his fifty, and Nepal U19 started losing wickets at regular intervals. Subash Bhandari's unbeaten 18 runs at the end of the innings helped Nepal reach a total of 169 runs before getting bowled out with one ball to spare.

Rohanat Doullah Borson shone with the ball for Bangladesh U19, claiming four wickets. Sheikh Paevez Jibon chipped in with three wickets, while Md Iqbal Hossain Emmon, Maruf Mridha, and Jishan Alam contributed a solitary wicket to Nepal’s downfall.

In pursuit of a paltry 169 runs, Bangladesh U19 got off to a solid start. Ashiqur Rahman Shibli and Jishan Alam added 67 runs for the first wicket, with Shibli departing for 16 runs off 34 balls. Chowdhury Md Rizwan departed after contributing 15 runs, and Jishan went on to notch up his fifty but failed to convert into a big score and departed for 55 runs off 43 balls.

Ariful Islam and Ahrar Amin started building the partnership, with the former scoring at a brisk pace, while Amin struggled a bit and departed for 12 runs off 17 balls. He was soon followed by Mohammad Shihab James, who departed for a 3-ball duck. The interesting fact is that all 5 wickets fell prey to Subash Bhandari, the lone warrior for Nepal. Ariful continued his merry ways and remained unbeaten on 59 runs, helping his side chase down 169 runs by 5 wickets and 148 balls to spare.

Stay tuned for the post-match presentation....
