So that marks the end of our coverage from the eliminator of the PSL 2024 between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi. Islamabad United will face Multan Sultans in the grand finale day after tomorrow after defeating their worthy opponent Peshawar Zalmi today.
For now this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Akshaya KrishnaPolya and Deepak Prakash and our scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Good night,.
Shadab Khan (Islamabad United Captain): "We didn't play our perfect game, but we are still in the final. Still, there is a game left to play a perfect game, and I hope that it comes on the big day. The belief was there. It didn't matter what the situation was; the belief was there.
Hunain Shah was under pressure when he dropped a catch. As a player, when you miss chances, it doesn't go your way. We had seven options, so we covered him up. He has done so much hardwork.
Haider Ali is a talented player. He always had the potential. When I was the captain of Northern, he was there in Rawalpindi. I have seen him hitting cleanly. He is a nice bloke as well. We didn't pick him in the initial draft, but we wanted him in the supplementary. We know his ability to hit the ball so hard. If you ask one player to change the game, it will be Haider Ali. He hasn't performed that well the last few years; everyone criticised him."
Imad Wasim (Player of the Match)- "I thought today's wicket was better than before. I tried to not give pace because bowling quicker will give the batters advantage. It was 190-200 runs wicket and we bowled well in the death overs. They were 15 runs short.
The wicket was too good. We tried to play ball-by-ball and I thought Haider will take the chance so decided to stay till the end. Credit goes to Haider Ali for playing such an exceptional knock.
I think the final will be competitive. Multan is a terrific team and we will get one day before the game. We will have some icing and massage before coming out for the final."
Player of the Match- Imad Wasim(59* of 40 balls and 0/23 from 4 overs)
Safe Hands of the Match- Shadab Khan(4 catches)
Superpower of the Match- Naseem Shah (3/28 from his 4 overs)
