That's it from our coverage of the 6th game in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Although no result was achieved in the match. The Scotland openers displayed their class with some good strokes. That will be it from this coverage. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Akshay Bhide and scorer/analyst Manish Bishnoi. Special mention to Ajay for all the updates during the intervals. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world and in the T20 World Cup as well.
Richard Berrington (Scotland Captain): "Yeah, obviously, everyone is frustrated to not get a game. It was a good job from the guys to go out there and put a good score on the board. But disappointed with the result.

We had to give ourselves the chance of defending the total. We had to see how the wicket behaved but we would have fancied ourselves of defending the total if we had bowled and fielded well.

Jones can bat anywhere in the middle order. He is a very good player and we just felt he will be well suited up the order.

Munsey is in great form in recent times. He is hitting the ball well and we know what he can do when he gets going. He is brilliant against the spinners and it was nice to see him play those shots. Not sure whether I would be able to play those."
Jos Buttler (England Captain): "We were confident coming into the game. Obviously expected a tough challenge. There are no easy games but we were confident. Disappointment for everyone, isn't it? For both sides and the crowd that's here.

I think we were couple of balls here and there. All in all with the conditions and stops and starts and then the constraints. Then we went back out with certain bowlers who were already bowled out as well. I thought we scrapped tight and we were confident of chasing that score down.

We all make mistakes, we can understand that but you want to set the tone as best we can. No ball wicket is always disappointing and no one's more disappointed than Woody but these things do happen. The reaction was good to that. Kept going and couple of balls falling in away from the fielders. Those kind of happens in T20 cricket. We just wanted to get underway."
England are yet to win a single match against a European nation in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup history.
12:18 AM IST, 2:48 PM Local Time: Handshakes all over! The match has been called off. 1 point distributed to both sides. A great chance for Scotland to turn things around and beat the defending champions in their tournament opener but rain has played spoilsport at the Kensington Oval.

The openers faced all the 10 overs that were possible in the rain-hit fixture. Michael Jones played some lusty strokes to finish unbeaten at 45 with George Munsey scoring 41 in 31 deliveries. No England bowler could leave a mark and finished wicketless.

There were multiple delays caused by rain and in the end the officials have decided to call the game off as it is still raining and the ground cannot be prepared in the due time.
12:10 AM IST, 2:40 PM Local Time: The rain has gotten heavier now. The entire square is under covers. A couple of Scottish players were taking catches on the outfield but have returned to their dressing room. This doesn't look good.
12:00 AM IST & 2:30 PM Local Time: Just as the innings comes to a halt, the covers rush on the field again! It was drizzling during the last 2 overs, not a big shower, the covers are precautionary. It is still drizzling and the players can't take the field until it stops completely. Looks like we are on for a longer wait for the chase to begin.
