Suryakumar Yadav (India Captain and Player of the Match): "Very happy with the way boys displayed their talent on the field and I was really happy with the energy despite being put under pressure. But the way everyone came back into the game, I just loved it.
Its a proud moment, whenever you play cricket you think of representing India but coming out here as a leader, I think its a very big thing. It will take a bit of time to sink in but I am very excited.
I just felt there will be a little bit of dew but there wasn't any help from that. I knew it was a small ground, the wicket gets better later on and when we were bowling we thought it will be 230 or 240 but the bowlers took us back in the game in the end. I just told them to go out, express yourself. After 30/2, we can just be on the positive side and very happy to be on the winning side.
Me and Ishan have been in these situations before in franchise cricket. I told him not to think of what we are chasing just keep batting and we will analyse at the end of 10 overs and then after that it was a perfect tailor made situation. 60-ball 100 that happens every 2nd game in the IPL so we knew what's gonna happen later on.
Whenever I go in to bat, I just enjoy my batting. Even if I bat for 10 balls or 40 balls, I just try and enjoy. Just love the atmosphere at the ground. Love the support from everyone in the crowd. I just loved it and enjoyed myself in the middle.
I told the tailenders [post dismissal] to not take the game too deep. But the way the boys kept their nerves, it was great to see from Rinku. He hasn't played a lot of international cricket but it was a perfect situation for him. 24 ball 40 and his calm and composure relaxed me. I was happy to see him finish the game.
All the 3 fast bowlers pulled us back in the game after 16 overs. Incredible achievement."
