A win with six wickets left and the Adelaide Strikers Women eclipse the Sydney Thunder Women to reach the top of the points table with 12 points. Katie Mack gave a flying start with 24 off 15 balls in pursuit of the chase of 149 runs target. It was followed by a steady partnership between Laura Wolvaardt and Tahlia McGrath for the second wicket. Both batters were outwitted in quick time after the drinks break but Bridget Patterson and Danielle Gibson jolted crucial runs to help the team go past the finishing line. Although Gibson was dismissed in the 17th over, the wicketkeeper-batter's 36 off 26 balls served a neat win over the Gades.
Earlier in the contest, Melbourne Renegades posted 148 runs in 20 overs on the back of a 96 runs partnership between Harmanpreet Kaur and Jess Duffin.
Hayley Matthews was outwitted in the first over by Georgia Adams but Tammy Beaumont stabilised the ship 🚢 with a brisk run-a-ball 26. Courtney Webb, who came to bat at no. 3 was stumped by Amanda-Jade Wellington within the sixth over. They were pushed back to 41-3 at 7.1 overs.
Harmanpreet and Duffin played an important part and denied any wickets until the 19th over. The Indian skipper scored 45 off 38 balls while Duffin notched up a fifty, gathering 54 off 38 balls to take the total to 148.

Coming to the ball, a fullish length ball served around the off stump by Coyte.
