Glenn Maxwell (Player of the Match): "To win four in a row means a lot to our fans. Loved watching Thomas Rogers bat. It's a nice feeling at the moment. We have got a great fan-base. Hopefully, we can continue to perform well."

Sidharth: Stars' use of their spinners was the turning point of the Melbourne Derby.
5:04 PM IST, 10:34 PM Local Time: So, Thomas Rogers hits the winning runs as the Melbourne Stars win this game by 8 wickets with 11 balls to spare in a rain reduced game at the MCG. They have won 4 matches in a row and climbs upwards in the points table. They are in third place now while the Renegades are languishing at the bottom as we speak.

Chasing 98 for the win, the Stars lost Daniel Lawrence quite early in the piece. Beau Webster scored a laboured 14 off 18 balls. But Thomas Rogers batted through the innings and scored 42* off 34 balls. Skipper Glenn Maxwell remained unbeaten on 32* off 15 balls and played the role of a finisher today. The target was achieved in 12 overs in the end.

Tom Rogers and Peter Siddle with the wickets that were taken by the Renegades today. The rest of the bowlers went wicketless today. They were off the mark.

Earlier in the game, Melbourne Renegades were put into bat first by the Stars. Jordan Cox fell early. Quinton de Kock looked good but fell at the wrong time as he scored 23 off 16 balls. Jake Fraser-McGurk laboured his way to 14 off 19 balls. Mackenzie Harvey got a start and managed 18 off 16 balls. Tom Rogers was unbeaten on 10* off 6 balls as the Renegades ended with 97/7 in 14 overs with 5 extras given by the fielding side.

The Melbourne Stars bowlers bowled really well. Daniel Lawrence picked up a couple of wickets for 8 runs in 2 overs. Glenn Maxwell bowled 3 overs for 8 runs and picked up a wicket. A wicket for Joel Paris, Imad Wasim, Mark Steketee, and Beau Webster as well. All in all, Stars will be the happier of the two sides and got bragging rights in the Derby.

So, a win for Melbourne Stars over Melbourne Renegades by 8 wickets with 12 balls left as they climb upwards in the points table. Stay tuned to find out what the Player of the Match has to say.

And that's it. Stars complete a comfortable win.
