5:05 PM IST, 10:05 PM Local Time | Wow! A thrilling encounter to see us off for this year! Melbourne Stars and Adelaide Strikers were both brilliant and the best team won the encounter!

So, for the last time in 2023, this is Anirudh Modi, signing off along with my co-commentator Akshay Bhide, and our scorer/analyst Paras Yadav! Happy New Year to all our viewers! See you on the next one!
Marcus Stoinis (Player of the Match): "Yeah. It was good fun. The boys set up nicely for me to come out swinging and happy with the win. I was going to swing at it. I did some work with the coaches before this game.

It all changed after the partnership between Maxi and Beau. It was a brilliant partnership and it helped me express myself when I came out to bat. As I hit some of the middle, it felt better and it allowed me to free up.

It’s lovely here. Beautiful crowd and the atmosphere is great. Around 40 thousand people watching, I love playing here and happy to contribute."

4:49 PM IST, 9:49 PM Local Time | AND BREATHE! Big Bash League stays true to it's name, providing us with a cracker of a game heading into the last few hours of 2023! Melbourne Stars deliver a crushing blow to a beast-mode-Adelaide! They defeat the home team by 7 wickets to make it 3 losses in a row for Adelaide Strikers! Let's dial it up from the beginning,

Melbourne Stars won the toss and elected to bowl first,
but little did they know that a belter of a pitch was awaiting their bowlers. The Short brothers negotiated a well-paced start to take their team to 34/0 at the end of the powerplay.

Melbourne Stars thought they had a way back in the game when Corey removed D'Arcy Short from the equation in the 6th over. However, Chris Lynn decided to roll back the years. The Veteran Aussie along with Matthew Short blasted the Stars' bowlers for 93 runs in the next 7 overs to put Adelaide in a commanding position.

Short fell shortly after reaching his half-century but Lynn was not done yet. The danger man entered GOD MODE and stayed unbeaten to smash 83 runs from 42 balls to power his team to a monster total of 205/4 at the end of their 20 overs.

Skipper Glenn Maxwell picked up crucial wickets of Matthew Short and Adam Hose and was the best bowler for his team with the figures of 2/21 from 3 overs.

Come the chase, Melbourne Stars came out confident to chase the target under lights, but Rogers fell early to provide a hiccup early on in the chase. However, Dan Lawrence was unfazed, the opener exploded in the powerplay along with Beau Webster to register a total of 50/1 at the end of the powerplay.

The duo smashed away to a partnership of 79 runs before Dan Lawrence reached his half-century and was run-out on the same ball! Glenn Maxwell played a crucial cameo of 28 runs off 17 balls before the fireworks were to begin!

Maxi fell to a false short and that brought Marcus 'The Hulk' Stoinis to the crease. Stoinis unleashed himself on the Strikers' bowlers from the get go and forged a match-winning partnership with Beau Webster who stayed unbeaten on 66 runs off 48 balls. Marcus Stoinis eventually blazed away to a merciless 19 ball 55 runs to win the game for his side!

An innings that will forever be looked upon as one of the best in T20 cricket! Melbourne Stars extend their streak to 3 wins while also extending Adelaide's loss count to 3 in-a-row!
