Thats all we have for you folks from the 1st T20I encounter between England and Australia. Australia have taken a 1-0 lead in the 3 match T20I Series.

For now, , this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of co-commentator Anirudh Modi who, along with scorer/analysts Paras Yadav brought all the actions of this clash. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Mitchell Marsh (Australia Captain): "Hahaha, it was pretty exciting watching Heady and Shorty bat. Heady is a special talent and he laid the path to 200 and we are glad to have him.

We are lucky to have guys like that in the team, and specially for some of the young guys to learn and Josh is amazing, I just went back to him when I wanted to apply the pressure and he gave us the wicket. It was a great wicket, it certainly nipped around a bit until Heady got going and it does not matter otherwise.

Bartlett, he has hurt his side and it's disappointed to see a young fellow go down and hope it's not to bad. I hope it warms down in Cardiff, haha."
Phil Salt (England Captain): "Yeah everything was good apart from the result (Laughs). Yeah Travis batted brilliant at the start but we fought back really well after the powerplay.

We didnot bat well, lost too many wickets inside the powerplay and were behind the game. Yeah he (Travis Head) has done that since the past couple of years so we knew he could do the same but as I said before the bowlers dragged it well for us.

Well we bowled really well to keep them under 200 but as I said, we didnot bat well. We should have extended the partnership and bat deep which we failed to be honest so thats why we are at the wrong side of the result today."
Travis Head (Player of the Match): "It was a nice start and nice to get underway. A nervous start in the first couple of overs but nice to get one away.

I just tried to acclimatize to the wicket, as Scotland wickets were different and it took some time to start hitting my shot, and then we got a nice partnership going, and start the series well.

The way we are going at the moment, whether it be Jakey, Mitch and whoever steps up plays well, I have built good relations with some guys in the team.

It's all down to what the coach and the captain want, and I love to go out and whack it every time, I am in nice bit of form at the moment and want to keep that up. The freedom that Ron, Pat and Mitch and staff do give me and the support I have got is incredible.

Time for the post match presentations.
02:41 AM IST & 10:11 PM Local Time| That’s the end of the 1st T20I Encounter between England and Australia as the visitors have comprehensively defeated their arch rivals by 28 runs. The Aussies have also taken a 1-0 lead in the 3 match T20I Series.

Earlier in the day, Australia were put into bat by Phil Salt as we had some showers before the start of play. The two Aussie openers were off to a flying start as they took down the England seamers to the cleaners. 86 runs were scored in the powerplay by Australia as the dangerous Travis Head who scored 59 off just 23 deliveries was sent back to the pavilion in the final delivery of the powerplay by Saqib Mahmood.

Post the powerplay, the spinners of England got them back into the game as the Australian Skipper was dismissed for just 2. The fightback began with the ball from England as Australia who were in a really strong position, heading towards a massive score, kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

Australia were 118/2 at the halfway stage of their Innings with the bat only to lose 8 wickets for 71 runs as they were bowled out for 179. Terrific display with the ball by England in the second half of the Innings as the home side fought back really well. Travis Head (59 off 23) was the top scorer for Australia while Liam Livingstone (3/22) was the pick of the bowlers for the home side. England required to chase down 180 runs from their 20 overs.

In reply, the home side did not get off to an ideal start with the bat in the chase. They lost 3 wickets inside the powerplay for just 46 runs. The Aussie new ball bowlers bowled extremely well, especially Josh Hazlewood.

England were behind the game as it was getting tough to score runs post the powerplay. The dangerous Adam Zampa struck straightaway and the wickets kept tumbling for England who desperate required a partnership.

Post the drinks break, the 5th wicket partnership between Liam Livingstone and Sam Curran added 54 runs together as England tried to fight back into the game before the latter was dismissed for 18.

He was soon followed by the dangerous Liam Livingstone back to the pavilion as he was the last hope for the home side. Australia were brilliant with the ball as they wrapped up the England Innings who were bundled out for 151. Sean Abbott was the pick of the bowlers for the Aussies with figures off 3/28. Australia were brilliant overall as they have won this fixture by 28 runs and have taken a 1-0 lead in the 3 match T20I Series against England.
