8:48 PM IST, 17:18 Local Time: Bad news, folks! The match has been abandoned. The rain has had the final say in the second T20I as well and the 5-match T20I series is now unofficially a 3-match series.
8:45 PM IST, 17:15 Local Time: The rain has stopped and the covers are being peeled off again.
8:35 PM IST, 17:05 Local Time: The match officials stride out to the middle for the inspection and head straightaway to the sawdust applied area which is the primary concern for them. Now they have a chat with the head of the groundsmen. One of the match officials has opened up his umbrella ☂ now, seems like it's still drizzling a bit. We can see the dark cloud looming over here. The lights are on, and now the groundsmen are bringing on the covers back.
20:25 IST and 16:55 Local Time | The good news from the ground is that the groundsmen are removing the covers as the rain has stopped.
8:14 PM IST, 16:44 Local Time: The drizzle has turned into heavy rain, and more covers are being brought in now. This ground has already taken lots of water in the last couple of days. To give you an update, we had a delayed start of 60 minutes due to wet outfield, and we might start losing overs right away.
8:03 PM IST, 16:33 Local Time: It has started to drizzle here at Buffalo Park, East London, and the groundsmen are covering the pitch. But the good news is, Makhaya Ntini on air says it's a passing shower. Hopefully, it will pass away soon. It looks like the drizzle has gotten a bit heavier now but the sun is also out, and a rainbow🌈 is clearly seen at the venue.
