That's it from the second T20I between West Indies and India from the Providence Stadium in Guyana. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator AkshayaKrishna Polya and scorer Raju Khariya as we take your leave for the day. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Rovman Powell (West Indies Captain): "Yeah, it's a very good position to be in. You (Samuel Badree) just said that we haven't won back-to-back T20Is since 2016 against India and hopefully, we can continue winning.

We always knew it was going to come down to how we batted against spin.
See, we batted the spinners well especially in the middle overs. But we just had a slip-up in the last phase of the run chase. Shows cricket is a game of glorious uncertainties. I realised that whenever batters go at the bowlers, they don't go at the first over. So, I insisted on giving one over spells for the fast bowlers as it was really hot out there.

Yeah, yeah definitely. It becomes very difficult for the right-hander to face the wrist spinners like Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi. See having Pooran and Hetmyer, the two left-handers in the middle order is certainly an advantage while playing against wrist spinners.

Romario Shepherd has been very good. Shows when you instil confidence in players what you get. Not just in him but all the players."
Hardik Pandya (India Captain): "That was not a pleasing batting performance by us. Wickets kept falling, at the same point of time the wicket played at the slower side. We were not good enough to manage that and get to a total would have been 160+ or 170.

The way Pooran's been batting makes a big difference. It becomes difficult to rotate spinners. It does not matter if someone takes the ball away. We really fought back at the end.

The current combination which we have, we have to bat with 7 batters and trust our top 7 to chip in with some runs and I have always believed bowlers win you games. If your batters are having a good day you don't need really much of them after some point of time. We need to figure out how to get strength from 8, 9 and 10 if we need them to chip in with 5-10 runs though they did it today. At the same point of time, the batters need to take responsibility.

The way Tilak Varma as a left hander is batting at number 4, it gives us an option to have the left-right combination all the time. It doesn't look like it was his second international game. That is the beauty of these youngsters now coming in with fearlessness. It's a learning process which is fine."
Nicholas Pooran: "Yeah, I want to thank Jesus. I want to perform and satisfied with this. Honestly, I want to finish the game. But when I got out, I thought it was done and dusted. But it is cricket, anything can happen and we did see the game turning on its head.

Wow! (Reaction of Pooran after knowing his unbelievable average in excess of 100 at this venue).

I won't say this as a purple patch. I have been working hard to get this and it has been going well for me so far. I have seen us losing consistently. I have given away the captaincy as well and now want to enjoy the game. It's happening to me.

I want to enjoy the game and continue entertaining. The score didn't actually matter to me. It was about batting well and controlling the game. I felt like it was a decent wicket and we are accustomed to getting such wickets here in Guyana. The bowlers are going to give you half-volleys, short balls and full tosses and you need to cash onto it."
Player of the Match: Nicholas Pooran
11:48 PM IST, 2:18 PM Local Time: It's time for the post-match ceremonies...
11:38 PM IST, 2:08 PM Local Time: West Indies finish as the victors in the second T20 international as well winning it by a bare margin of 2 wickets with 7 balls remaining in the game.

India skipper Hardik Pandya earlier won the toss and decided to bat first with the men in blue managing a below par total of 152/7 in 20 overs on the back of a maiden international half century from Tilak Varma (51 off 41) and his 42 run partnership with Ishan Kishan (27 off 23). Alzarri Joseph, Akeal Hosein and Romario Shepherd all picked up 2 wickets apiece.

West Indies got off to a poor start to their chase losing a wicket off the very first ball and then the second in the same over delivered by Hardik Pandya (3/35). Arshdeep Singh struck again in his second over removing Kyle Mayers for 15.

Batting at number 4, wicketkeeper Nicholas Pooran started attacking immediately in the powerplay taking the team past 50 in the sixth over and added 57 runs with the skipper Rovman Powell for the fourth wicket.

The left hander continued the attack getting to his 10th T20I half century in the process and was dismissed by Mukesh Kumar when the team needed 27 in 42 balls. Pooran's knock comprised of six fours and four maximums.

Shimron Hetmyer scored a-run-a-ball 22 but losing a flurry of wickets in the back end pushed Windies on the backfoot again. Akeal Hosein then stepped up scoring 16 off 10 alongside Alzarri Joseph (10* off 8). The duo took the team from 129/8 to victory with seven balls to spare.

Hardik Pandya was the pick of the bowlers but was expensive. Yuzvendra Chahal bowled just three overs and finished with 2/19. Arshdeep Singh (1/34) and Mukesh Kumar (1/35) were expensive as well. Ravi Bishnoi (0/31) was wicketless and Axar Patel wasn't required to bowl.
Akshaya: You call it and Akeal Hosein delivers! He comes up with his trademark celebration and note that it is the first time West Indies have beaten India in consecutive T20Is since 2016.
18.5 M Kumar to A Hosein
4 FOUR RUNS!! It's all over! West Indies go 2-0 up! Full length outside the off stump, Hosein gets on the front foot and drives down the ground beating long off by a distance for four runs!
