Main thing about my batting today was to spend the time in the crease to help my team get over the tough phase of the match and that was my plan to help my team post a decent total.

Mignon du Preez (Player of the Match): "Throughout the competition, we've been brilliant with the fielding and the ball, but we struggled a little bit with the batting, and I think it just clicked today. I actually stuck my hand out trying to just keep the ball inside, and I was just as surprised as anyone else when I saw it stuck."

After giving away 155 runs, Barbados Royals Women came to chase the run and Hayley Kristen Matthews started hitting it well in the middle while Gaby Lewis was anchoring the innings. But after Samara Ramnath, the debutant came to bowl her first over, she removed Hayley Matthews for 45.
After Matthews's departure, the in-form player Erin Burns(4), the big hitting Laura Harris fell cheaply and that was a huge concern for the batting team. Although Gaby Lewis was scoring well in the middle, losing wickets on the other end at a regular interval made the chase look difficult for BR-W.
Zaida James came to bowl the 18th over and she removed Aaliyah Alleyne in the first ball and Anisa Mohammed took an excellent catch at extra cover to terminate Gaby Lewis's innings. Those two balls made the difference between the teams. In the 18th over, BR-W scored just 7 runs and in the 19th over, they scored 5 only and that made the equation down to 24 of the final over. Then Anisa Mohammed bowled the final over and all she had to do was to bowl legally and at a good line. In the end, TKR-W won the game by 13 runs.
For TKR-W, Zaida James was the game changer with the ball with her two wickets and Fran Jonas, Anisa Mohammed, Samara Ramnath and Marie Kelly shared four wickets equally between them.
Earlier coming to bat first, TKR-W boarded 155-3 after the first 20 overs, thanks to some late hitting by Mignon du Preez. Mignon scored 36 off just 23 balls to ensure her team reach 150 run mark. Captain Deandra Dottin promoted herself up the order and scored an anchoring 51 ball 47. For the excellent cameo of 36, Mignon was adjudged the man of the match.
