Match Details
Chasing a challenging total of 288, the left-handed Murray Commins started the innings on an electrifying note by striking a couple of boundaries in the opening over. His opening partner Alistair Frost played the second fiddle and started his innings steadily. The left-right combination was working well for the Munster and they pulled through the first powerplay without losing any wickets.
The spinners bowled in tandem in the middle overs but both Commins and Frost were dictating the play deftly with frequent rotation of strike. Despite the increasing trend of the asking run rate, both batters played well-composed knocks and brought up their respective half-centuries. The Reds were gradually progressing towards a victory before the 30th over by Reuben Wilson turned the game on his head.
The right-arm pacer Wilson first broke the 125-run opening stand by having the wood over Commins 67(90) and then removed his opening companion Frost 50(86), who was caught in the deep trying to hoick across. To top all of that, Wilson attained the massive wicket of Curtis Campher 0(1) in the following delivery and completed a whopping three wickets in a single over.
