So, it has been a great turnaround for the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2023 so far. Losing their first two matches, thereby kicking off in the most Mumbai Indians fashion, the Rohit Sharma-led community have finally landed their first blow in the playoffs. Rohit Sharma (Mumbai Indians Skipper): "I had definitely thought about it.[On asking about whether you think of getting into playoffs two weeks ago] I think that's what we have been doing for the last few years, people don't expect us to do what we have done. We come out of all the obstacles and we manage our way through. At the start of the season, we thought we had work to do.
I mean, Akash was in the team as a support bowler. This year he was drafted into the team, once Jofra went back we knew Akash can do it for us. We wanted him to bowl at the backend. Talking about the scouts, you know a lot of the players who played for Mumbai Indians went on to play for India. Credit goes to the scout team.
