That's it from an entertaining game in the Indian Premier League. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator AkshayaKrishna Polya and scorer Paras Yadav. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Marcus Stoinis (POTM): "It was nice. We were joking about the difference here and the one at home. We were just trying to build a partnership. Ayush got off to a flier as well hitting some nice shots. He is a very talented player so we just tried to keep building and that was our only focus.
I enjoy the responsibility of batting a bit lower and saving the game home as well so part of my career has been batting in every position. Bowl first over, bowl last over try to mix and match. I am happy to do whatever the team needs.
I was swinging the ball a bit in the nets so the bowling coach got excited and told me to start with the new ball. Probably the home wicket suits me a little bit more with taking the pace off and creating a little bit from the wicket. I will leave bowling on the flat decks to the frontliners."
Player of the Match: Marcus Stoinis
KL Rahul (Lucknow Super Giants Captain):"Something we have done right, I don't want to put a finger on it. We would have chased as well this game but happy that we could get the win.
Every game from now on in the second half becomes really important. The last game was a downer and did hurt a lot of us as a team but we got 3 or 4 days break after that which was good. I think everybody got some time off, put their heads off cricket and rested. We came back fresher and were always clear how we wanted to bat. When we play back home the wickets are different, it is challenging and when you come here you get excited as a batter as you know you can put some runs on board and really good with the way we batted.
The pitch can be different no matter how long you've played here. You can be surprised by the pitch. The first 2-3 overs when Kyle put the pressure on them opened things for us and set a tone. He set the tone and we took it from there.
I am thinking about what tactics we can use. We have power hitters - Kyle, Pooran and Stoinis and guys who can bat around. Ayush has been doing good with the bat. Deepak and Krunal have played some good innings. We want to use them according to situations and see how to get the best out of them firstly and also what's best for the team in that particular situation. So the think tank does most of the thinking and I spend a little bit of time understanding what they're thinking and if that's exactly what I want as a captain and if it suits us we go with it."

Nicholas Pooran (Lucknow Super Giants): "Yeah, I am very happy with the bowlers. We are really happy for the two points. It was a good wicket for batting. There was a longer side and a smaller side and hence, need to take on depending on the smaller side. Bowlers also needed to be smart and I knew once we controlled the powerplay, we were trying to make the batters hit on the bigger side. Yeah, didn't ask for the review because I wasn't good with it of late (on that appeal for a caught behind down the leg side in the second over). I just left it to pass by as I haven't been successful with it. The lesser I practice with the gloves, the better I keep wickets. It is all about catching the ball using soft hands. Would have been happier if I got through the fifty but not too sad that I didn't get through. Always happy to contribute. Sometimes the 40s are good for the team."
Shikhar Dhawan (Punjab Kings Captain): "Yep absolutely we gave away too many runs and yeah we paid the price for it. Yeah, yeah exactly. Are you talking about the way I got out? Yes, that one didn't come off the surface quickly and I got out. But I had to go for shots. I guess we were off-colour with the ball. We were short of a spinner tonight I guess as we went with an extra fast bowler. We tried for something and it didn't come good. It is a very good learning curve. There is no particular reason for holding back Shahrukh Khan. We had Livi (Livingstone) and Sam Curran in the middle and I was okay with it. Sometimes the impact players work sometimes don't. It's parts and parcels of the game."
11:30 PM IST: Lucknow Super Giants join 3 other teams at ten points at the top of the points table! Punjab Kings lose another game at home, this time by a big margin of 56 runs despite winning the toss and putting LSG to bat first.
Looking to chase the 2nd highest target ever achieved in the history of T20 cricket, the Punjab Kings got off to a bad start losing the returning skipper Shikhar Dhawan for just a single in the very first over. Prabhsimran Singh who got a life on 5 was dismissed by Naveen-ul-Haq in the 4th over resulting in the Kings losing both their openers in the powerplay.
Atharva Taide (66 off 36) played a brilliant hand adding 78 runs with Sikandar Raza in 47 balls for the 3rd wicket but the required rate was too big an ask for the batting order. The Kings were 93/2 at the halfway stage with 165 more to win in 10 overs.
Raza (36 off 22) was dismissed in the 12th over by Yash Thakur, Taide's Vidarbha teammate with Taide miscuing a slog sweep soon to become Ravi Bishnoi's first scalp. Bishnoi chipped back in his final over getting rid of the dangerous Liam Livingstone for 23.
Jitesh Sharma (24 off 10) joined Sam Curran at the crease with both the batters displaying their intent straightaway but 92 runs in 4 overs was a very big ask for any batting order in the world. Injury to Marcus Stoinis while bowling his 2nd over ensured LSG used 9 bowlers with 4 of them chipping in with at least one wicket.
Naveen-ul-Haq was the standout bowler finishing with 3/30 in his 4 overs. Yash Thakur got 4 wickets as well but was very expensive in his initial overs and finished with 4/37. Marcus Stoinis accounted for the skipper Shikhar Dhawan's wicket. Bishnoi was expensive on a good batting wicket and finished with 2/41.
W WICKETTT!!!! That is it for Punjab Kings! And Yash Thakur has four wickets in the innings. A low full toss on the leg stump line. It was there to be hit but Shahrukh Khan can only manage to find the fielder in the deep. He clears his front leg and heaves. Gets more height than the distance and Bishnoi at deep mid-wicket takes a good catch, acknowledging the crowd with his arms wide open!
19.4 Thakur to S Khan
0 Short and quick going over the leg stump. Shahrukh misses the pull to the keeper.
200 up in the final over for the Kings but it is now irrelevant.
2 This time they cross over for a couple of runs. 200 is up for the home side. Full and on the middle and leg. Shahrukh sits down on one knee and slogs it to deep square leg.
