As of now, it is time for us to sign off. Arijit Kundu, taking your leave alongside esteemed co-commentator AkshayaKrishna Polya and scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Stay tuned to our network for more cricketing extravaganza.
Ravindra Jadeja (Player of the Match): "Yeah, I think I enjoyed my bowling. This kind of wicket suits my style of bowling. It kept low and turned, and I just bowled on the right lengths. I knew they would come out sweeping and reverse sweeping, and that's where I bowled on the stumps. I just kept them simple, wicket-to-wicket and allowed the pitch to do it's tricks. I kept on bowling on the stumps and waited for them to make mistakes, which they did. Not on this wicket, haha (On asked is sweep shot is the safest option against Jadeja)."
Rohit Sharma (India Captain): "Yeah, I mean, fantastic result for us. Looking back at the things yesterday, the way we came back and finished the job was really well. We had to bat second on the pitch but the kinda effort we put in this morning. To come out and get nine wickets and yeah, to go out and finish the job.

On a pitch like this, one can come out and bat differently. The way they played last evening, we knew they would come and play shots. We were mentally prepared for it. We knew the pitch would help. I have seen them, those guys are not used to it. We wanted to wait for them and make the mistakes.

I mean look, every game you play here. There is a bit of moisture in the pitch. What I noticed here, there is a lot to offer in the first session. As the game goes on, it doesn't bites that much. I had a good chat with them [Ashwin and Jadeja]. They have played enough games, in these conditions. It is about keeping it tight, keeping it nice. I left it to them. I
t was about to stay calm and let the mistake happen.

When you play Test cricket, there are four innings, there are a lot of things to count on. I think the partnership between Jadeja and Virat and between Axar and Aswhin counts. To make 100 runs partnership on that pitch was never easy. Those guys have applied and got us to near the target. Yeah, thank you"
Game changer of the Match: Ravichandran Ashwin
Strongest Performer of the Match: Axar Patel
Pat Cummins (Australia Captain): "Yes, I thought 260 was a good total on the first-day wicket. I think our guys cameback nicely. I think they batted out well. One or two partnerships from their batters levelled the total in the first innings. They did well to get near us. I think we were 80/2, and they were under pressure at that stage. But we slipped up and gave it to them. We will work it out via a few reviews in the drawing room, did we do things right? Both games were disappointing, especially this one. We were ahead of the game, which is unusual in India. This loss hurts."

Session Breakdown (Day 3)

Session 1: 23.1 Overs, 66 Runs, 10 wickets.
Session 2: 22.4 Overs, 104 Runs, 3 wickets

Cheteshwar Pujara: "Yeah, it has been a great Test match. Unfortunately, I didn't get many runs in the first innings. I knew that if I stayed in the crease for a while and played initial balls well, I could do well. It is a special feeling when your family watches you playing the 100th game. I am really happy about the occasion. I was really happy they saw me finish off the match with a boundary.

(When asked about Saurashtra winning Ranji Trophy 2022-23)Oh, is it? Happy for the boys of Saurashtra for winning the Ranji Trophy. I did have an eye on the proceedings till lunch but couldn't see what happened afterwards. Congratulations to all the Saurashtra boys.

Ahh... I thought we might end up chasing 200-250. But kudos to our bowlers for restricting them to such a low score. Yes, the pitch had the turn in it. But you need to apply yourselves and bat according to the merit. I was using my feet well- Going to the back foot when needed and going forward for those full deliveries. It is important for one to use the feet against the spinners. It is those initial phase where you need to be extra careful. Yeah, I knew my strengths and batted accordingly. (When asked about teaching sweep shots to Aussies in their dressing room) Ahh... Not really, at least before the series ends (smiles)."
